November 1st 2011. On that fateful night in a Boston dive bar, two fellas, a Wisconsonian and a Serbian, made an agreement to take to the streets of wintry Boston to workout for that whole November. To embrace their city and use it as their gym and playground. Little did they realise what this month of exercise would lead to…
… the start of a movement that would spread to 44 cities across 8 countries…
… a community that gets thousands of people moving collectively throughout their city…
… people gaining an appreciation for real human interactions on a daily basis…
… the creation of a worldwide family that will welcome you to their city with open arms…
… a platform for people to start moving for the first time, to move faster, longer and with a laugh, a cheer and a smile…
.. the start of lifelong friendships, relationships, weddings and even some babies!!!!!

Thank you to Brogan and Bojan for being the spark and the drivers behind this movement for the past 6 years. To Laura, DG and Andrew Ferrence for being the catalysts to move the Tribe beyond Boston and start the #worldtakeover. To the voluntary leaders who promote, plan, sweat and lead these workouts 1, 2 or 3 times a week (even 17 times weekly in Edmonton’s case). To partners like The North Face for giving the platform to grow this movement across the nation and internationally. And the most important thanks goes to you, the Tribe, the heart, soul and positivity behind this awesome family we find ourselves part of. The likes of Naiomi Lundman who took home the Positivity Award today. A consistent presence at the heart of NPSF. Supportive to the people around her. Welcoming to new members and OGs alike. Always willing to volunteer at non-workout events. To lead carpools. To push herself at workouts week-in week-out. Thanks to you, Naiomi, and to you, the Tribe.

If you’re newer to November Project, just came across this blog, or need that reminder of how this movement has helped a few of the members of our worldwide Tribe, take 28 minutes and watch this documentary. Then, come join us for hills on Friday. Chinatown at Grant/California. 6:25AM.
