For so many people across the November Project community, their Tribe has became a platform for us to get fitter, to feel welcome in a new city, to find our people. Regardless of where you’re from. How you got here. Who you love. What sports team you follow. Which deity you follow. Whether you use metric or imperial measurements. What you eat for breakfast. Regardless of these many things that make us unique and different, you are welcomed into this NP community. “I dteannta a chéile” (in Irish, this means “Together as one”).

Over the past year, our friends at Dooster (including NPSF’s own Ryan Scura) have been working on a project that exemplify this variety we have in our community, the acceptance and welcoming attitude across the Tribes and the ability of this community to transform someone’s life for the better. This coming Thursday, we have the NPSF premiere of this Dooster-produced, TNF-powered, November Project-supported documentary, “Showing Up”. The 30 minute film goes deep into the lives of 8 people from around the globe who all, for very different reasons, make the decision to just show up to November Project each week.
It kicks off next Thursday night (November 17th) at 7:30PM in the Women’s Building (3543 18th Street). Grab yourself the Eventbrite tickets. The night will begin with a few short stories from the NPSF tribe, followed by the Dooster film and a Q&A for one of the filmmakers, Ryan Scura. It is a night not to be missed! If you want to share your own NP story on the night, please throw in a submission here. SPREAD THE WORD. Bring your friends, families, co-workers, neighbours.
Other news:
- Good luck to everyone racing this weekend. From trails on Mt Tam to half marathons in Monterey, get out and crush it kids!
- On Wednesday November 16th, we will have our third and final part of “The Ultra Guide to Running your First Ultra” series at the TNF store, Post St. In this part, we are going to delve into the mental approach to running these ultra distances. As we venture into this unknown, it’s our remarkable mental strength that can help push us through some of the speedbumps that we encounter in our training and racing. There will be spot prizes to celebrate TNF’s 50th anniversary, and beers from Sufferfest Beer Company. Free tickets and more info here.
