This morning was great. Somehow, we went up in numbers from last week. Normally, the group gets smaller as the days get shorter and colder. But I guess NP is anything but normal. Lots of new members this morning, I even convinced one of my chiropractor colleagues to change his clinic schedule on Wednesdays so he could start coming. Last week’s shabooya award went to Dennis, and since then I’ve been hearing all these stories about how he’s taken on this mentor role for all the newbies. It’s one of those things you miss when you’re running the work out, trying to coordinate everything. So it was nice to hear these little anecdotes, every one should take notes from Dennis and make an effort to make all the new people feel at ease. Let’s face it, your first couple times at NP are always a little daunting, a little weird. Maybe they still are. That’s ok.

Dennis passed the Shabooya award off to Ivan. Couldn’t have been a more deserving recipient. Ivan shows up consistently, always super friendly with everyone he meets. He missed a couple during the burger week contest, when his restaurant Nuburger was busy cruising to a fourth consecutive win (out of four years of having burger week here). He’s supplied y’all with motivation to crush your PR’s since the spring, handing out some solid gift certificates every month for three lucky/motivated individuals. In his spare time, Ivan crushes 2-hour half marathons and and enjoys long walks on the beach. K wait, I forgot what I was doing here. Pumping Ivan’s tires clearly.

This FRIDAY, at 6:10am come do a pop up workout at the Goldeyes Stadium (Shaw Park). We have done it twice already, the first one was almost exactly one year ago, and both times were great.

Wear your freshly tagged gear, and come earn your weekend. This morning was really cool, thanks everyone for coming. We will keep you posted on our correspondence with NP Baltimore. I’m looking forward to having a moment to read what you all wrote! img_6377
