Johnny Kohler Run Kansas. #jpkrunskansas

Hello Boston, do we have your attention?!  (Throwing KANSAS in a blog post title might be the only way we get Dan Foiles to read a blog… but that’s beside the point.)

In this wacky, incredible community that is now in 31 cities across the entire universe; there are thousands of people doing pretty epic shit every day. Sometimes these adventures span across multiple days, sometimes they even span across multiple cities and sometimes they are just too fucking INSANE not to HYPE.  Well we’re highlighting this one in particular because it combines all three of those and we’d love to show our love and support for an awesome dude, doing ridiculously awesome things.

For those of you who don’t know Boston has a sister tribe, in a land down under, called Kansas – Kansas City to be exact (KC for short).  The leaders from this tribe make us look like….well not as cool or badass as we’d like to think we are.  If you aren’t following them on social media, please do so now and then silence your cell phones and really pay close attention to the rest of this blog.

John Kohler is one of the two really, reaaaally inspiring Co-leaders of November Project Kansas City.  A few days ago he set out on a trip that most of us will only dream of (or nightmare of… if that makes any sense).  He set out on a little LONG ASS footrun across the entire STATE OF KANSAS.  Yes.  Think Forest Gump style shit.  He’s averaging +-45 miles a day to accomplish this in 10 days. Yes that is around 450 miles.

If you have not gotten the chance to meet this character, then you’re truly missing out.  He’s like the Kobe beef of meat kind of guy (a quick google just taught me that Kobe is the best of the best – rarest or rare meats….).  AKA he’s a guy you want to meet.  He’s a husband.  A father to two.  A Co-leader to hundreds. A Marathoner (multiple Bostons included).  And well, a Boston lover. img_2949

Do you believe me now that he’s super legit?!

But equally impressive to all of this, this guy is constantly seen with a huge smile across his face (except for in this cover photo – I may have found the only photo of him without a giant shit eating grin on his face).  In all seriousness, he may be one of the happiest gents I’ve come across in my 28 years of living.  He’s spreading all of his love and positivity, ALWAYS.

A few other cities, tribes, people and groups have shown their support for Kohler and it’s time we jump on this train too.  Here’s an example of what the folks over in NP-MKE are doing.

(In true NP fashion they are planking their way across Wisconsin. ohhhhhhh good ol’ November Project. Best of luck to you guys. Don’t expect a follow up blog post or small parade in you honor.)

Now let’s show our support for Kohler and his incredible efforts by following his journey on social media and sending encouragement, inspiration and motivation over the next few days as he finishes this feat.  If there is anything that Boston knows how to do, it’s to flood him with out love, positivity and energy. He’ll need all of it.  When we run the hills tomorrow AM or whatever other runs, races, adventures we get into this weekend, let’s try and channel our inner Kohler.  When we’re feeling restless, fatigued or tired just remember to throw on your best Kohler face (the biggest smile you can give) and continue to grind it out.
