This is the email we’ve sent out to the members that have signed up for tomorrow’s in-person trial workout. We are no longer accepting sign-ups for tomorrow, but here’s a peak at the social-distancing precautions we are taking for now–
Hi November Project Brooklyn,
First, thank you so much for signing up for our in-person test trial tomorrow, Wednesday, 10/14! We’re VERY excited to be together in-person, but want to ensure we’re creating the safest environment for everyone, our NP Bklyn family and the greater Brooklyn community. We kindly ask that you read this, in full, prior to attending tomorrow’s workout. IMPORTANT DETAILS FOR TOMORROW
- We have 30 friends signed up for our in-person test trial; including Maggie + Jessica, we will be a group of 32.
- We are meeting here, at the Prospect Park Bandshell, with a workout start time of 6:28am EST.
- On October 6th, Governor Cuomo announced a new cluster action initiative, which we have been following closely. You can learn more about it here. We are aware that the Brooklyn clusters are close to Prospect Park (although the park is not part of these designated areas) + want to make sure you are informed when making your decision to join us on Wednesday morning. The latest version of this cluster map has also been attached to this email.
- Here is a sneak peek of the workout tomorrow. We hope that by being more transparent about how everything will go will help each of us contribute to creating the safest environment for all.
- Knowing these details, if you no longer feel comfortable joining us — we totally understand + respect that choice. Please reply directly to this email to let us know + we look forward to seeing you in the future!
EXPECTATIONS
- First + foremost, if you wake up on Wednesday morning not feeling well or displaying any COVID-related symptoms, please refrain from coming to the workout. Again, this is for the safety of not just our group, but for all those you might come in contact with in Brooklyn or any of NYC’s other boroughs. If you feel sick, stay home!
- Please arrive ~5-10 minutes early. In order to start at 6:28am, we will need you there, on time, with your undivided attention.
- Upon your arrival, we will space everyone out 6 feet at a minimum, but will aim for more. We will have cones marking where you should set up your “workout station” (each one labeled with a name tag; you’ll look to find yours!) — think of it as you’re arriving at a studio fitness/yoga class + find your designated spot to set up your mat (which we recommend bringing; see full list below!). It will be easy to arrive + begin chatting with friends you haven’t seen in months… please be extremely mindful of this + how close you are to others before we kick off the workout.
- We ask that you wear your mask (covering your nose + mouth!) at all times. If you need to catch your breath or take a sip of water, you may take your mask off momentarily, but you can only do so while at your designated “workout station”, which will be socially distanced from others.
- Grabbing coffee together after our workout is a one of our NP Bklyn traditions. Yet, given the social nature of this activity, we ask that you consider heading straight home after our workout. Should you wish to partake in post-workout socializing, please break out in smaller groups (2-4 people maximum) + support different coffee shops than others. As you can imagine, the optics of 20+ individuals crowding one coffee shop, all in NP-tagged gear, are not ideal + we must be considerate of the greater Brooklyn community, outside of our NP-focused bubble.
- Should you feel sick, display any COVID-related symptoms, or indeed, test positive for COVID-19 after our workout, please contact Jessica immediately (757-619-2278). Here is a list of COVID-19 testing sites, where testing is available for free + on a walk-in basis (no appointment required). This is also a friendly reminder to get your flu shot if you have not already!
WHAT TO BRING
- REQUIRED: Face mask that fully covers both your mouth + nose
- NOTE: While buffs might work well for you (+ are very on-brand for us!), we will be doing NP-style workout moves (ex. burpees, jump squats, etc.), so having a face covering that fully wraps around your ears might be more comfortable for our type of workout. We will have a supply of the light blue disposable face masks available if needed.
- Personal hand sanitizer
- Headlamp; sunrise will be at 7:06am!
- We recommend bringing a yoga mat or towel, as the area around the Bandshell is concrete.
- Other personal belongings: water bottle, keys, phone, etc.
- Excitement, self-awareness, + patience as we go through this together!
Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to either of us. Maggie can be reached at (646) 327-9918; Jessica can be reached at (757) 619-2278.
We look forward to seeing all of your beautiful + masked faces tomorrow morning.
Spread out & still love, it’s the Brooklyn way.
-Jessica & Maggie
