Monday’s + Snow + Bone-chilling rain?!
Most people wake up on mornings like this one, snooze their alarm, wait til the absolute last minute to get out of bed, shower, maybe brush their teeth – if they’re fancy, let their dog out in the yard to do no. 2- if they’re even fancier – and dread going out in this shit weather. They hate thinking about going outside, they hate it while they’re out in it and it ruins their entire day. You know who I’m talking about, the people in the office right now who are complaining the weather is making them tired, miserable and grouchy. Well spoiler alert, it’s about to get a whole lot worse.
Then you have these other characters. The people who lay out their ninja attire on SUNDAY night, pack their black ninja swords, set out their gloves, set the coffee pot alarm for 5:15 am and snuggle in bed dreaming of what the morning will bring. They wake up, see snow and scream “FUCK YES!” as their heels click together 3 feet above the ground.
These are the glass half full kind of people. They look forward to the giant outdoor slip n’ slide, the badass badge they’re about to earn by toughing out this weather and #justshowingup. These people are proof that all those excuses you first make about staying in that warm bed are BS. No one lost any fingers or toes, came down with pneumonia, was served up as breakfast for the soulless Father Ice or bitch slapped by the Yeti. I can assure you none of this happened. These are the people that have a little pep in their step on days like today, are smiling a little too much on the T, hoping the next three months of Mondays are like this – or like the winter of twenty fourteen.
For instance, our fierce newbie friend, Bridget; she’s one of those glass half full humans. She doesn’t really like to get called out…. so we’ll refrain from doing so…. Bridget did her homework, found out it was ninja day and made sure she was there at 6:29 AM. No one knows for sure if she enjoyed herself, but she was last seen galloping away from the destination deck spreading positivity to other unsuspecting, glass half empty, strangers. What we do know, is here is what Bridget experienced this morning:
She got to make her own workout. That’s right, EmC2 put the workout into the hand of the tribe, with a one of a kind, never been done before, highly original and CREATIVE workout….Shush DB…
She got her ninja-butt kicked.
She was part of the biggest, little boy cone group photo to date! (Cyber High Five C Payne)*
The tribe is getting really good at this ninja business. We’re quiet when we need to be and we respect that. BUUUUT what we gotta work on stealth. A neighbor who was enjoying her morning cup of joe, peered out of her front window, while the dog was in the backyard and was pleasantly surprised to see a clan of ninjas doing ninja like things. From the shelter of her own home and her heated, wireless, Brookstone bathrobe and matching slippers, screamed out to us, ‘What is this some kind of fitness group?!”. Really sorry about that neighbors, we tried really hard to keep the noise level down. This time it wasn’t our fault. Please believe us. #notstealth
Or the woman walking her dog yelling “HEY! Is this the November Project?!” and then proceeding to photobomb our group photo… #alsonotstealth.
In closing, don’t be one of those glass half empty people. Don’t miss out on the fun uniqueness of Monday AM. This winter could be brutally long or it could be wildly fun. The choice is up to you. #justshowup.
Signing off.
