Happy Monday, friends. I hope your week is off to a good start.
As a community, getting to know each other is important. I always enjoy getting to learn interesting facts about each other’s lives and am often so amazed by the things people in the NP community are doing. I’m looking forward to getting to know all of you a little better during my time as co-leader.
Since I’m fairly new to this role and writing NP blogs, I though this would be a good time to do a light-hearted interview of myself so you can get to know me a little better.
What’s your full name?: Eric Robert Douglas Decorby. It’s a long one. My middle names are my two grandfathers’ names.
What do you do for work?: I work as a civil engineer at Stantec (i.e. the tall tower downtown) where I work on community development projects (designing and building neighbourhoods). I’m also working on becoming a lawyer. I’m done all the school stuff for that and just need to finish off the work experience requirements.
Where are you from?: I’m born and raised in Edmonton. I love Edmonton and can’t imagine living anywhere else.
Do you have any siblings?: Yes! I have a younger sister named Elizabeth who is four years younger than me and is currently in school to become a teacher. She and I are very close.
What makes you happy?: Well… besides NP of course, one thing that I love is going to football games. I’m a huge CFL fan. I’ve gone to Elks games all my life and am working on seeing a game in every Canadian city (I’m currently at 6 out of 9).
What’s your zodiac sign?: I had to look this one up. According to Google, I’m a Leo.
What was your dream career growing up?: I’ve had many dream careers… Disney Imagineer and president of a sports team, to name a couple.
What‘s your dream vacation?: I love going on trips to Disneyland/Disney World. I also love hiking adventures. Recent adventure trips I’ve done are hiking at the Grand Canyon and the West Coast Trail.
If you could jump into a pool of anything, what would it be full of?: Many of you already know this… Chocolate Milk!!! Close second would be ice cream.
