Wisconsin notes:
- Food drive for Wpg Harvest was a success today; last day for it is this Friday
- Hype-man races, PR day and shirt tagging happened
- Paige- Positivity Award winner hands down
- NP social night- Thursday, October 19th, lock it in!
As part of the #NPgivesback campaign, we decided to run a food drive for Winnipeg Harvest. We thought the timing was great with Thanksgiving coming up, and it was great to see how much everyone donated to the cause. If you forgot today, you can still bring an item Friday morning to the Ledge!

We tried something new this morning, it was an idea from NP Phoenix, except they get to do it on the stairs at the amphitheatre. This new idea was the hype-man races; it was nice to do sprints and get the competitive spirits going! And burn your legs out before even starting PR day.
While everyone was crushing PR day, we got some fresh tags down. Everyone should be good to go for the WFPS race day now. We will be joining lulu at their cheer station on race day, details and Facebook event to follow for anyone that isn’t racing but wants to come cheer. It may have been our last day of tagging this year, the paint is starting to stick and depending on how cold it is at the end of October, we might not be able to tag anymore. We will post the day before if we will be tagging.
Paige has been coming to NP since before summer started, and hasn’t missed except for the day immediately following the Manitoba Marathon, when she crushed the half. She’s been showing up, smiling big, remembering names better than anyone I’ve seen, and crushing it. The winner of this summer’s Sunrise 6k, she also crushed the mec race this weekend. She sets a great example and we are pumped to have her showing up and showing us how it’s done. Well done Paige!

We have something fun planned for Thursday night on October 19th, so keep that evening free! It involves teams, racing around the city, and socializing afterwards over a cheeky beer. Megan is finalizing the plans for that and then she will create the Facebook event. We hope to see you there.
One last note.
Something we can all work on that we have been slacking on; recruiting. We’ve been doing this for over three years now, and it’s easy to get complacent with our routines. Getting new people out is something that keeps the energy up at the workouts. During our first two years, we used to always emphasize the recruiting, and do shout-outs to whoever brought in new people. It is definitely on us leaders to re-establish that; we promise to do a better job of it! Let’s make October a month of growth, so that we are strong heading into winter. We’ve got some cool things coming down the pipeline that will make it that much easier to recruit, so stay tuned.
