This mornings workout was so not November Project. Yoga? INSIDE?! Weird.
But somehow – at the same time – it was one of the most November Project mornings I’ve ever seen. Because despite the unsafe conditions outside, our community came together to make a workout happen… perhaps when we needed it the most.
We are all heartbroken by the fires ravaging our state. Our beloved Columbia River Gorge, one of the most fascinating geological features in Oregon and a place many of us consider a second home, is burning up. People are being forced to leave their homes and lives behind, knowing there’s a chance they will return to nothing. So many lives adversely affected by the irresponsible actions of a careless few. It’s a reminder of how quickly things can change.

But were we gonna let the smoke stop us from working out outside? Well yeah… maybe… but only because the National Weather Service said we might develop respiratory illnesses if we do so.
But we sure as shit were not going to cancel the workout altogether. #nevercancelled

Luckily, we have some badass members who really stepped up for the good of the tribe. Alaina made the magic happen by getting us into The North Face store. Lara helped us find clarity and peace of mind (and our core muscles) with a kick ass yoga flow. Everything came together to create one of the more memorable mornings at November Project PDX.

Thank you all for showing up.
Namaste and Happy Wednesday!
Now let’s do a rain dance and keep the people of the Gorge in our thoughts.
P.S. Keep your eyes peeled on the Social Medias for upcoming volunteer opportunities (and Happy hours!) If you haven’t been added to the social hour Facebook page yet, click here and shoot a request so we can add you!
And Don’t forget about the Magic School bus run on Friday! 3-5 miles around the waterfront led by Bismah! Meet at 6am at Providence Park, 6:15 at the Salmon Street fountain, or anywhere in between!
