1-2-3-GOOD MORNING

Wisconsin Notes

  • This morning, we learned how to say Bojan (and how to not land on each other).
  • We learned it’s a shark eat minoes world. And the sharks always win.
  • Eila (spelling confirmed – #facebookstalk) has better burpee form than you.
  • We cheered on local bikers with a bad-ass “good morning.” (this is at the end & is really important)
  • Taylor’s pancakes were partially uncooked; he was WAY too excited about it.

This morning was pretty epic, if I do say so myself. We first began with an interesting rendition of Rebecca Black’s Friday – fun. fun. fun. fun. looking forward to the weekend!!! (Enjoy having that one stuck in your head). Then post-warmup yog, we got to work on the levees. But not just
any kind of work… it was BOJAN time. 2 partners: 1 planking, 1runs down the levee, 5 pushups, then back up, to then do 3 bojans before they switched. read more

Newbies, Nomads and New Friends

What do a shanked punt, a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors and a strange first date screening process all have in common…?

Football season may still be a ways away from drawing humans from all walks to Champions Square, but a pigskin and the spirit of competition drew travelers from 3 visiting tribes as well as rookies and veterans alike to the shadow of the Superdome. Maybe it was the impromptu punt, pass and kick competition that got the tribe excited…or maybe it was the way your pivotal choice of rock, paper or scissors dictated the flow of the game – uh, workout – but the humidity stood no chance at stopping the faithful this morning! read more

Embrace the Weird (NOLA)

Wisconsin Notes:

  • Step by Step list on how to be weird and embrace it.
  • This morning we asked questions and got to know each other. STRANGERS BECAME FRIENDS.
  • Mia likes to sing and dance when she’s happy.
  • The tribe is strong.
Abs. All of the abs.

When asked to describe November Project or the reasons why I like attending NP, I tend to always find myself using one word consistently…

“It’s a group of really fun and fit people who curse and give sweaty hugs and they don’t mind being a little weird at 6am in the morning together.” read more

Monday Haikus (NOLA)

Oh, Monday Mornings,

We dread you all weekend long,

But not this Monday.

Up the stairs we went,

Around Crescent Park we ran,

High fives all around.

Destination Deck,

Push-ups, Dips, box jumps, sit ups,

Cursing the face cards.

“CHAOS” Glenn would shout,

Pausing what we were doing,

Circles we then ran. read more

Who Dat?! Seriously, who’s the new guy? (NOLA)

Alright people. The day is finally here. The dynamic duo is officially the triumphant trio. We couldn’t be more stoked. And there’s no better way to introduce the NEWEST CO-LEADER, GLENN BUCK, than by forcing him into putting all of his feelings into a blog post. So, without further ado, we introduce you to Glenn. read more

Deciding to #justshowup (NOLA)

One year ago to this day, I had a decision to make: to snooze or not to snooze. I had been in New Orleans for a mere two weeks now, and on my first day in this new city, my mom took me to meet an old friend named Linda – one of the OG members of NP NOLA. Upon our introduction, she suggested I #justshowup for one of November Project’s famed Champions Square workouts. When she told me the time, I remember thinking to myself, “ha! nope.” read more

FRIDAY PARKING & Transportation Info for Summit 5.0

Q: WHERE DO I PARK? A: OPEN this Google Map

HOW DO I GET TO THE STADIUM? HOW DO I GET AROUND?

If you find yourself asking these questions, let’s thank our local transportation guru Ari Ofsevit for compiling the following info.  Read as much or as little as you want (it gets really fucking detailed down at the bottom, and in the middle, and pretty much everywhere) but definitely read the part about parking for the Friday morning workout at Harvard.  And give yourself LOTS of extra time to get to the stadium.   read more

The Sounds of #NPSUMMIT Weekend

This email serves as a pre-thanks to the two DJ’s who are going to be holding it down for the NPSUMMIT. Number one is local legend Laura Ingles of Boston. Number two is new-kid-on-the-block and Co-Leader of November Project Virginia Beach Barry Clark. Laura will host the rise & shine beatdown inside the Harvard Stadium that will open the weekend early Friday morning and Barry will bring down the house at The Lawn On D Street on Saturday night, which will close the weekend. If you’re thinking, “I don’t know much about all of this that you speak of, this “N..P.. Summit” and I really wish I could click here and find out more details.” I hope that you go back and click there. If you already know what’s up, continue onward/below. read more

Doing It Right (NOLA)

Something important happened this morning. Something we all needed to hear. Something I clearly need to remember. It pains me to say this, but Louis, you’ve done good.

As I finished explaining the main part of the workout (for anyone who was wondering: side lunges & frog jumps up the stairs, 10 burpees at the top, a run down the ramp, 10 dips at the bottom, a skip back to the start, and 10 sit-ups before you do it all over again), Louis interrupted me. Now, typically this is the point where I begin to roll my eyes because he always gets the attention, but today, his interruption was welcome. His interruption was important. read more

This is the blog post you’ve been looking forward to since the announcement was made that the 5th annual November Project Summit #NP5UMMIT is going down in Boston, MA. The weekend will start off with the stair workout at the iconic Harvard Stadium, followed by some serious trail racing at the North Face Endurance Challengeat Wachusett Mountain, and will commence with the most epic social of the year! I know, the word “epic” is overused in describing anything from fun to exciting, but if you’ve been NPSUMMIT4.0 you know what I’m talking about (even if you haven’t been you know what I’m talking about.) read more
