This morning as I was wall sitting next to Cassie K, we started talking about what led her to November Project. She grew up with Beth Maroney from the Chicago tribe. Beth shares a lot about her NP experiences on social media. Cassie saw one of her posts on Instagram and although it took her a few months to #JustShowUp, she finally did. Now Cassie is a tribe member here in Austin that we see regularly on Wednesdays & Fridays. Thanks for the recruit, Beth!
Keep Austin Weird by Jonathan London (guest blog)
Two years ago I had plans to finally move home to Austin. I remember the feelings I had very clearly. After 12 years in Los Angeles (and half of my lifetime spent away from home), my long experiment of wandering the wilderness had come to an end. I found myself wanting a change, any change; something to excite me or some big, profound answer to help give me perspective. But those things don’t exist, at least not outwardly. And they are not often satisfied by a change of scenery because the changes you are looking for are changes that you carry with you.
There Is An ‘I’ In Team (ATX) – Guest blog by Andrew Holmes
Accountability. You hear this word a lot here at November Project Austin. We talk about being there for each other as a foundation of our community.
Merriam-Webster defines accountability as the quality or state of being accountable; especially :an obligation or willingness to accept responsibility or to account for one’s actions. But what does it mean to you? This week, tribe member Andrew Holmes shares with us what it means to him.
The Departure Lounge (DCA)
The NPDC community is comprised of ambitious, eager (good-looking) people who are constantly on the hunt for their next challenge. We see folks come and go, cycling through this revolving door of a metropolis often. People come to Washington for jobs, for love, for any multitude of reasons–and they leave for (better) jobs, for grad school, for the allure of a new adventure. One of the facets that makes NPDC exceptionally cool is the tendency of November Project to make people feel rooted and entrenched in our city, when they are brand new to a place. NP has a warmth to it that makes people feel at home; this makes departures all the more difficult. Over the past few weeks we’ve said goodbye to some pure gems, setting them free to spread their wings and flock to other GREAT November Project cities. We miss you, we love you, come home soon.
OAR-ganic Growth (ATX Guest Blog by Rachel Wimberley)
I was so honored to receive November Project Austin’s positivity award for the month of July. I sat after the workout with my camera at the ready and waited for our two illustrious leaders to present the award (to someone else.) I was going to get a great shot of the hand off to the recipient – until I realized it was me.
FRIDAY PARKING & Transportation Info for Summit 5.0

Q: WHERE DO I PARK? A: OPEN this Google Map
HOW DO I GET TO THE STADIUM? HOW DO I GET AROUND?
If you find yourself asking these questions, let’s thank our local transportation guru Ari Ofsevit for compiling the following info. Read as much or as little as you want (it gets really fucking detailed down at the bottom, and in the middle, and pretty much everywhere) but definitely read the part about parking for the Friday morning workout at Harvard. And give yourself LOTS of extra time to get to the stadium.
The Sounds of #NPSUMMIT Weekend
This email serves as a pre-thanks to the two DJ’s who are going to be holding it down for the NPSUMMIT. Number one is local legend Laura Ingles of Boston. Number two is new-kid-on-the-block and Co-Leader of November Project Virginia Beach Barry Clark. Laura will host the rise & shine beatdown inside the Harvard Stadium that will open the weekend early Friday morning and Barry will bring down the house at The Lawn On D Street on Saturday night, which will close the weekend. If you’re thinking, “I don’t know much about all of this that you speak of, this “N..P.. Summit” and I really wish I could click here and find out more details.” I hope that you go back and click there. If you already know what’s up, continue onward/below.
Sweaty selfies in the rain (ATX)
People say that death and taxes are the only things that are inevitable. In Austin, we know that there is one more guarantee – the weather is gonna be hot & dry. We rarely see the temperature dip below 40 degrees – break out the hats & mittens! If the weather forecast says rain – stop looking at your phone, it’s never accurate. We don’t often get the opportunity to show that we are #WeatherProof (and that’s not a complaint).
2017 NP5UMMIT Party

This is the blog post you’ve been looking forward to since the announcement was made that the 5th annual November Project Summit #NP5UMMIT is going down in Boston, MA. The weekend will start off with the stair workout at the iconic Harvard Stadium, followed by some serious trail racing at the North Face Endurance Challengeat Wachusett Mountain, and will commence with the most epic social of the year! I know, the word “epic” is overused in describing anything from fun to exciting, but if you’ve been NPSUMMIT4.0 you know what I’m talking about (even if you haven’t been you know what I’m talking about.)
