BALTIMORE RUNNING FESTIVAL- WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!

img_0856 “I’m going to keep this very short. Like…really really short. No wasted words. It’s going to be so short. You’ve never seen a blog so short, that’s how short it’s going to be. I write the shortest blogs. All of my friends always read them and say, “Nick, your blogs are so short, WOW!” No one writes  a shorter blog than me…no one!” – Nick Rod declaring his candidacy

GUYS! SATURDAY is one of the best days of the year. THE BEST! The Baltimore Running Festival is that one magical day a year where people don’t tell you how weird you are for running all year but instead wish they were you and had actually prepared. HERE are a few facts that are very important to the success of the event.

  1. If you are running…GOOD LUCK! Seriously, we love you guys. All of you. Doesn’t matter if you’re tackling the 5k or demolishing your first marathon. Running is not easy but the festival is a day where you get to be proud of yourself, no questions asked. So whatever you accomplish on Saturday, just enjoy it.
  2. If you are wondering where to pick up your bib, how to get to mile 22.5 or what is appropriate and inappropriate to wear to a race ( A onesie is always ok, a bana suite is amazing, clown costumes not so much) please head to this website for all important information. The race is way more fun if you follow the rules and don’t tell runners they’re “almost there.” If you bring otter pops bring enough for everyone.
  3. If you’re not running the best and only place worth being is mile 22.5. We suggest getting there early, setting up a tent, bring snacks to fuel your cheering. November Project DOES have the best cheer station at the Baltimore Marathon and we don’t intend to let anyone take that title from us. Don’t assume other people brought awesome things like music and frosty drinks…it’s better to have too much music and frost than too little. Here is the link to the event.
  4. The after party is a DIY affair this year. Our lovely friend Dawn is kind enough to host us at her beautiful house right near the finish. As a community we are going to do our darndest to fully stock her house with food and drinks for after the race. If you’re racing and want to help us stock this party ( which you do because it’s awesome that we have an amazing place to crash) Dawn will be home by 5pm the night before to accept donations for the next day’s party. Head to the group page for information on what to bring and location. When you see Dawn give her a massive hug and thank her. DO IT

Those are the major details folks. Anything we missed will be shared at the workout tomorrow.  OH! Right, tomorrow.

NOTE! TOMORROW’S WORKOUT

Tomorrow’s workout, on account of the massive amount of people participating in the festival, will be 1/2 Yoga and 1/2 Hills for Breakfast. If you have a mat for the yogaz, bring it so you can participate. If you’re really set on running the whole time, we’re not going to fault you for it but we would really appreciate you rolling with the style of the workout tomorrow. LA Finfinger, our yogi in chief, is kind enough to help us get all of our runners ready for the race the next day, so please be kind and courteous. BRING A MAT AND PRACTICE!
