As you may know, I’ve been away from NP for the past week while on vacation in Hawaii. It was great to be back with you this morning!
Unfortunately, there was no NP community on the island I visited (Kauai), so no traverballing for me. However, I did do lots of other fun adventures. I thought I’d use this blog to share a few highlights!
- Hiked the Na Pali Coast to a place called Kalalau Beach. In case you missed it, I did a vlog from there last week. It was stunning! It was a very full day to do the entire hike which weaved up and down some mountains on the north side of Kauai. Kalalau can only be reached by walking 17km each way on foot, so it was cool to be in a very secluded space with amazing views:
- Kayaked to a waterfall in the Wailua River:
- Watched surfers while eating acai bowls and shave ice in a cute town called Hanelai. (Side note: I really loved this town and wondered how much it would be to buy a cottage here. turns out you need at least $6M for that. I think I’ll hold off for now 😅)
- A HUGE highlight was running into my exact truck (famous for it’s starring role in Tailgate Talks). I didn’t take my truck on this trip as it doesn’t do too well on highways or water 😜. However, the trusty vehicle found it’s way to me. It was truly very exciting:
- Something surprising was that there was wild chickens EVERYWHERE. Each morning had a wake up call at 5:30am courtesy of the roosters:
