Avocado Recruiting (YEG)

The other day, I was talking up those things that cut avocados. They’re called avocado knives according to some. I went into how they’re a safer alternative than a regular knife. I talked about how it helps you scoop the avocado from the peel, and allows you to move around the pit. The avocado knife just makes sense. It makes having avocado toast quick and simple. You can make guac with no problem. Then I got talking about the benefits of avocados. You think they’re for eating, but they’re so much more than a food. They’re a way of life #theavocadolife. Then I started to tell them the best place to buy one and started searching for them on the internets. It was then, that they told me that they are actually allergic to avocados. They can’t ingest them. And with that, I saw my dream of becoming an avocado ambassador disappear, right in front of my eyes. I probably should have done some listening first to find out how they’d be able to use an avocado knife before I went and told them everything I thought was cool about avocados. Maybe suggesting they make avocado masks was the better angle.

You see, recruiting people to NP is much like avocado knives. You could tell them everything you think is cool about NP, but you’ll be better off doing some listening first, and then finding the angle about why they should try NP.

Here’s your challenge: Try it! Do some listening, ask some questions, and then recruit someone!

Friday: See you at Walterdale Hill. 6am.
