THIS ISH REALLY WORKS!
Let me back up.
In 2017, after undergrad, I moved from Seattle to Philadelphia to experience something different. Seattle is the city that raised me and I knew it was important to get out of my comfort zone by moving. As a millenial, the first thing I did after hearing about November Project was a quick online search. found phrases like “free fitness” and “meeting new people that is also bright n early.” That had “me” written all over it; I’ve always considered myself both a people-person and an early bird. I also love working out.read more
Today is official “Bike to Work Day” so, naturally, we took it a step further and encouraged everyone who could to “Bike to WorkOUT” as well.
Despite the rain (yes it rains in Seattle) we had another strong showing. The Seattle tribe has shown us that Friday workouts are here to stay. FUCK YEAH!
The future is present. Right now the entire city of Seattle and, more importantly, the local November Project tribe is looking forward to the first official Friday workout.
That’s right – Friday, May 6th at 6:29am NP Seattle will be dropping sweat all over Seattle Center.
Today’s blog post is that simple. Be there this Friday and be part of the next level of November Project Seattle – this is an epic workout venue with Seattle’s most iconic landmark towering overhead. #RecruitEveryone and bring your friends for their own free lifetime membership! If you need any recruiting tips, please see this video.
Thanks to Andrew Sporrer and the folks at The North Face, we’re teaming up for an awesome community building and social event for those who attend November Project Seattle’s first Friday workout.
It’s simple – Show up to the Friday workout (May 6) and receive a voucher worth $10 off your purchase of $50 or more. Bring your voucher to The North Face at 10:00am and take part in a private shopping event.
On top of that, The North Face will be giving out a Thermoball jacket of your choosing, a small Basecamp Duffle, and a Recon backpack.
One of my favorite workouts is the card deck workout. We’ll throw a couple decks of cards down and people randomly draw a card. The suit and value of each card will determine the movement and number of reps they are about to do. The unpredictability of this workout keeps everyone on their toes because they don’t have any idea if the card they draw is going to have them go run stair repeats, drop where they are and bang out ten burpees, or perform a variety of other workouts.
“When I dip you dip we dip…”
Following a card deck workout, I always see a crowd full of sweat, smiles, and laughter. Here at November Project Seattle, we embrace the unknown with open arms! Now just hope that you’re not that person repeatedly drawing the ten burpees card.
