Jimbo Clause

I have the cutest Dad.  Hopefully everyone’s stomachs are full and minds fully alert.  In true November Project keep riding the wave during the Holiday season and remember it is always better to give then receive.  I would say Happy Holidays now but I am sure I will see you at the Convention Center Stairs on Christmas morning.  So instead I am going to re-share the only and only blog I have ever written in the past 4.5 years that beholds content.  We all have a story, take a second to read mine. read more

A Game of Telephone.

Today was fun and awesome.  It was for numerous reasons.  I personally enjoyed the game of telephone.  While none of us will ever really know the truth about BG and the oily duck, Tom the Skipper and his pirate friend, or whether Angelo was able to seduce LP with his tribal bird feather fluffing dance; it was fun to play along. read more

The Difference Between Showing Up and SHOWING UP

Hi, team #bustedhipsandknees aka Stefanie and Emily here. Today we’re going to talk about something we’ve noticed at the workouts lately.

We all show up on Mondays and Wednesdays for different reasons – the community, the disgustingly yet awesome sweaty hugs, the ass-kicking workout, the excuse to explore our beautiful city, socializing over post-workout avocado toast and vanilla lattes. Today, we want to talk about the ass-kicking workout aspect. read more

Today was better than Good.

Today was one of those days that I left NP thinking “Yeah, nailed that!”  Today was better than good.  I can’t ever really put my finger on it that make one NP session better then the other.  I can tell you that it is something about the buzz in the air.  Today it was there from beginning to the end. read more

World Wide Community!

Today we took a step out of our awesome NPSD bubble and thought about the vastness of November Project.  This is what makes NP have that ‘it’ factor.  November Project spreads far and wide and encompasses so many amazing humans that we have the chance to make connections with.  Get out there and see what you can do San Diego; surprise yourself. read more

Roar!!!!

Today we let our inner animal shine!  In efforts to keep our YEARBOOK PHOTOS “Welcome to the Jungle” theme in the for front of your minds we went to, well, the Jungle.  I know very creative.  We all got to act like baboons, kangaroos and cheetahs at 6:30am, then watch Simba aka Eugene become the King of the Jungle.  It was all a little awkward, especially when we sang “I’m a llama, I’m a little llama”.  But my guess is that at some point today you chant that in your head and then hopefully smile.  After a healthy portion of Jungle runs, chasing jaguars and a shit ton of hoistees we rounded it out with an exceptionally long wall sit.  Those 3 minutes were not fun but I bet your booty will appreciate it since summer is a coming! read more

HYPE, HYPE, HYPEEEE NPSD YEARBOOK PHOTOS- MAY 31ST

Yearbook Photos is a really special time of year that we all #justshowup and get dope photos taken of ourselves and if you miss out you have severe FOMO.  You have been warned.  This years theme is “Welcome to the Jungle” since The Jungle was our first workout here at NPSD’s home in beautiful Balboa Park.  We will be shooting May 31st with the talented Nick Isabella.  Start hyping now, do it!  Let’s make a goal of hitting somewhere in the ball park of 315-317 people!  (Date is 5-31-17- so yeah that’s where the goal number came from)!  NPSD is notorious for having not only having the best yearbook photos and sexiest tribe members, but also for having the largest numbers of humans present on this day!  Get excited, start recruiting, come up with awesome ideas (blown out hair, leopard print, stuffed animals, Tarzan, ect) and be ready to show up early at 6am to start the fun! read more

A Short Story. My Story.

FB_IMG_1487042833493

Over the past 3.5 years I have heard numerous stories from people about how November Project has changed their life.   Maybe they were an unhealthy weight, or smoking packs of cigarettes, feeling lost in a city without a good group of friends, depressed, no support system for tough times, or uncomfortable with exercise, in a toxic relationship, or just believed they couldn’t ever be a runner.  November Project has changed peoples’ lives dramatically across the world.  These stories have touched my heart, have caused me to shed many tears, and have been a huge catalyst to WHY I love to lead NPSD. read more

Gratitude for this Community

Happy 5 years November Project!  Big thanks to the larger then life Brogan and Bojan!

Brogan started our morning off with a super zany bounce and we followed it UP with a hard and farty workout and then finished it with a no-talking, height size-does-matter race.  It was really fun.

But you know what is not so fun; injuries. read more

Why do you #risengrind? Words from Jim Coffee

Hi – I’m Jim (aka Jimbo, Pops), the old guy on the NPSD sidelines usually walking Lucy and (always) sipping coffee. I earned a pass on doing the Tribe’s heavy-duty workout by wrapping my car around a telephone pole 6 years ago (not recommended).      I migrated to San Diego from the Northeast 2 years ago following the untimely passing of my wife Debbie.  My kids and their spouses had already moved here so it was the right thing to do.  But still it was all uncharted waters with many things ahead of me to figure out.      Ashleigh had already told me a lot about NP and it sounded good so she soon encouraged me to check out the workouts, and I have to say the NP family has been a very large part of my transitioning to a new life here in SoCal.  Right from the start, BG, Ashleigh, Lauren, Jessie and all the tribe members made me feel very welcome even though I wasn’t in there sweating it out.  I have loved all the different workout locations and am still finding new areas of Balboa Park to explore.      So for the past couple years, from my different perspective, I’ve watched NPSD grow and thrive, and I continue to be amazed at the positive energy that is generated by simply exercising hard, personally interacting and having fun – a beautiful thing to see.  At the same time, I appreciate all the creative thinking and energy that goes into making this project such a success.  My message to NP is congratulations, keep it going and growing AND THANK YOU.      I would like to add, as a proud Papa, it is a big pleasure to see my kids involved in November Project.  Andy, as a regular and hard sweating member and Ashleigh, as a dynamic leader who seems to have found a great way to use her considerable set of skills.        Be Strong NPSD !
