A Birthday Ode to NP NOLA

3 years of #freefitness in NOLA.

That’s 265 workouts where the tribe showed up. 265 mornings where we rose before the sun, hugged friends and strangers, and screamed “FUCK YEAH” or “YEAH YOU RIGHT” at the top of our lungs.

We owe a lot to Preston, Cameron, Kate and Will for putting their blood, sweat and (maybe) tears into bringing this movement to our little town. Without them, we’d probably be a little more round, a little more rested, and a lot more lonely. But thanks to them, we have our tribe; we have our family.

Tribe – this appreciation post is for each and every one of you. Without you, it would’ve only ever been 4 best friends running the stairs at Champions Square. Without you, we wouldn’t have had the chance to create something so special. Without you, life just wouldn’t be as fun.

Being born and raised in NOLA it’s easy for me to get stuck in a rut of the same old bars, same old parties, same old people, same old traditions… but three years ago I was thrown into something that keeps me on my toes with new places, new people, new laughs, and endless amounts of new adventures… I don’t think anyone will ever know how much this tribe means to me; the people is what makes it so awesome and I truly owe my happiness to them… all of them, even those that don’t or can’t show up anymore. Happy birthday NPNO. -Lou

When I look you in the eyes each Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning and tell you that I’m happy that you’re there, I hope you know I mean it with every single ounce of my being. There are a million reasons why November Project New Orleans is amazing. But y’all – every single one of you – are my number one reason. So thank you for turning this quirky, drunken, wild city into a place that I can call home. Choosing to just show up 10 months ago for my first workout was the second best decision I ever made. The first? Saying “yes” to being your co-leader. -Mia
