- Get there Get there Get there
For 30 mins I’m saying these ditties as we pass and climb the stairs together and while I try and use names as I go honestly sometimes I get it wrong but that is a work in progress. I am positive that at the butt crack of dawn sometimes these words of encouragement on non-stop repeat can be a bit annoying but I don’t think it is not a secret to say that I do it for selfish reasons. Perhaps naively, I think that some folks benefit from it (seeing the gassed faces at the end of the workout might prove that point) but truly they help propel myself up those stairs. If I tell myself that if I can be positive for someone else I can do this workout too. Helps to silence those negative thoughts about how I can’t do it. And yes I definitely get those thoughts.
As you are climbing those stairs I am positive that the person behind or ahead of you at some point is saying “this is tough,” “why am I doing this,” “argh!” in their heads. We should help each other out. Let’s help rid each other’s negative talk and encourage each other – even if it is annoying because you don’t know what someone is going through and how even your smallest of actions can make a difference. It never hurts to try 🙂
Keep being awesome,
Rob
