The first digit in your age starts with a 1

We did the vortex workout today. I love this one.

Everyone runs in a circle until they hear a statement that applies to them. They come to the middle and do whatever exercises Rob and I holler out! Then, they rejoin the circle. That’s the jist (+ a burnout, says all of you who were there this morning).

One of the questions Rob called out was “If the first digit in your age starts with a 1, come to the centre.”

Two people made their way to the middle.

Wow.

It got me thinking about being a teenager again. Of course, that was just a few years ago for me so the trip down memory lane wasn’t too long ago. 😉

I was thinking about whether or not I’d show up with my parents to something like this. Like, if I was a teenager and had to run hills, stairs or in circles (hahaha) with people one, two or more decades older than me, would I?

What a character building thing is what I think whenever teens show up to NP. They could easily just stay in their warm beds. Today, these two didn’t. How amazing.

It’s cool to see all of us getting uncomfortable at 6am. It’s not easy to get up well before 6am (it is these days though…. #theseasonoflight). Nor is it easy to push yourself – physically and mentally – with NP friends nearby. This is where personal growth happens.

And to see it happen, with teenagers, is pretty dang awesome IMO. The rest of us are awesome too…
