What a morning!

It was cold as could be. I’m not sure why but my butt was freezing the whole time… TMI Lazina. Not for these friends it isn’t.

Look at this epic group of women. Full of burning legs, snotcicles, frosty hair/lashes, giant smiles and gritty spirits!

We aren’t complete without the amazing women in our NP Canada crew. We also aren’t complete without our amazing men too…. you know me, I want to have everyone around. 😉

I would share with you that I am who I am because of my resilient Mama Bear, Savi. She is the best woman I know. My Mom decided, at a very young age while being relatively new to Canada, to NOT put cultural pressures or expectations on the shoulders of her three little girls. “Why?” has always been her thought.

As a result, I have the mindset that I can do anything and be anything that I want to. I know this is not the case for many of my sisters around the world, which means that I don’t take it lightly that I was/am empowered to do anything I want to. This, you may or may not know, isn’t very common for many brown girls, even those who were born and raised in Canada.

Lucky me.

I think back to when I met my now husband, Casey. I think it was really important for my parents to feel confident about in the life partner I chose. Casey treats me a lot like my parents do in that regard. He uplifts me and always helps me get out of my own way. He sees the greatness that my parents saw and always wants me to strive for anything that I want to.

I hope you’re all having a few moments today to reflect on the great women in your lives.

Hop over to the NP blog and see some of the most recent posts… you might see someone you know there. #happyholi
