November Project Providence’s 12 Days of FITMAS

What’s better than working out for one day? Working out for TWELVE days! It’s the Twelve Days of Fitmas – November Project Providence’s holiday fitness extravaganza. We’ve done month-long run streaks in the past and last year we indulged in a self care streak. This combines the best of it all with a twelve day challenge. Yes, we’ll still have our traditional twelve days workout and it will kick off this challenge! Mark your calendar for December 14 at the Providence Pedestrian Bridge, 6:01 AM. Here are all the deets:

Day 1Wednesday, December 146:01 AM NP PVD Workout at Pedestrian Bridge

Day 2Thursday, December 156:00 PM Run 401 Wayland Square
Our friends over at Run 401 host an all-paces all-faces group run (3 to 4 miles) from the corner of Wayland Avenue and Angell Street. New friends are always welcome! If you’re not local, or traveling for the holidays, run/walk/skip/jump/hop/bike an outdoor 3-4 mile route and Strava it! If you’re in an unfamiliar place/it’s dark/you’re by yourself, hit up the ‘mill for today’s miles.
Day 3Friday, December 16Self Care Day
Take 30 minutes for yourself. Yes, a full 30! Read a book, wash your face, call a loved one, take a walk, take a nap, indulge in a hobby – these minutes are for YOU!

Boost those healthy habits! Start your day with a tall glass of water, go outside and breathe some fresh air, write in your journal, take a bubble bath, or cook a healthy meal.

Day 12Sunday, December 25Self Care Day
Call someone and tell them that you love and appreciate them! If you’re not a phone person, totally cool, take a few minutes and send a text or email, or even better, write a little card and slip it in the snail mail when the post office opens up early in the week.

The holidays can be super fun but they can also be full of travel, stress, anxiety, and can be downright tough. We’re here for you! Need a buddy to help you complete one of these days? Let’s tackle this physical and mental fitness challenge together.

Still reading? For those that complete all twelve days there will be a unique tag! We’ll have it at the December PR day.
