September Smiles (Ottawa)

Greetings dear friends, we meet again
In the space where co-leaders bring paper to pen
To offer a news source so objective and true
That SO many readers look forward to

We begin with our highlights of the weeks gone by
The sweat and the tears (though we didn’t actually cry)
Bear with us as we step back in time
And attempt to explain each workout in rhyme

Week 1 will be remembered by the popsicle stick
Red, blue, green, or yellow – you took your pick
Each colour offered points, and an exercise too
Though burpees were not often chosen to do

Week 2 brought trouble – what were we to do?
With our Sunrise 6k results all askew!
You squatted and planked and oh so much more
Until the order of runners was completely restored

The next week we said thank you, gracias, and merci
And thought of all the things we are grateful to be
Surrounded by friends and family, secure in a home
With access to french toast, and coffee with foam

And finally today – we pushed through the pain
To reach that PR despite the threatening rain
Though legs may have screamed there was never a doubt
With YOWzers who continued to encourage throughout

When the workout was through, Tamara did share
The coveted frisbee, with jewels so rare
For since his first day, our good friend Wren
Has continued to show up again and again

Always working hard and pushing the pace
You’ll find him with a quiet smile on his face
Congratulations to Wren, hold that frisbee with pride
(Also, we hope your legs aren’t too fried)

Now we could not forget an important event
For the positivity award has a new recipient!
Friendly and smiling, his attitude can’t be beat
Stick close to this guy to know where to eat

A long time member and friend to all
Need an adventure buddy? Just give him a call
It’s hard to keep track of all the places he’s been
Congratulations to the one and only… Josh Finn!

Since last blog came out, we’ve had a birthday or two
And in case you missed out, here’s what you do:
Think of Carson and Kat and Tyson as well
Send a birthday BOOM as loud as you can yell

Normally we’d include a special interview
However this writer must run to change a stinky poo
Tune in next month to read the hot feature
And learn more about this awesome teacher!

Thank you for reading, the end is now here
But do not fret, dear friend, and please do not fear
Next week brings another chance to show up
In the meantime, don’t forget to go pet a pup!

Sole-fully,
Rebecca & Becca

  1. We may sometimes forget to visit
    Or always acknowledge it
But like a beacon in the fog
We all look forward to the blog
    Cause rhymes are better
    When written by the Nadler
