“Going Beyond the Land Acknowledgement”
On March 27th, November Project held a webinar with Elder Dr. Dave Courchene, a respected Elder and Knowledge Keeper of the Anishinaabe Nation who has devoted his life to sharing Indigenous knowledge, carrying a message of hope, peace, and environmental stewardship. In 2002, he founded The Turtle Lodge International Centre for Indigenous Education and Wellness, a sacred lodge recognized internationally and by Indigenous Knowledge Keepers as well as the Assembly of First Nations and the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs as one of the most important gathering places for Indigenous Peoples in Canada.
During the webinar, Elder Dr. Courchene spoke about the ways to connect to the land that we move on. The session was followed by a Q&A portion of the meeting where the audience was able to ask some great and to November Project community, very relevant questions.
To show gratitude to Elder Dr. Courchene for his time and willingness to share his wisdom, please consider donating to The Turtle Lodge here.

#NPKnocks by You
We knew that the November Project community was creative, but we didn’t anticipate this many fantastic entries! The NP Knocks By You contest is now closed and the group of esteemed judges are going through the entries as you read this. The judges will select 6 finalists whose entries will go up for a public vote between 4/5 and 4/11 on knockaround.com. All 6 finalists will receive three pairs of Knockarounds (two of their choice plus a fresh pair of the #NPKnocks sunglasses once they drop this fall). The winning design will also help inspire the official 2021 #NPKnocks sunglasses design, plus a $250 Knockaround gift card and 50 pairs of #NPKnocks sunglasses. Stay tuned for the announcement of our finalists next week and thank you for all who joined in on the fun.
NP Workbook
This onboarding guide has been in process since late 2020 and is getting close to being completed in the upcoming weeks. The last rounds of edits have wrapped up with a small group of Co-Leaders that bring a variety of experiences and identities into the process. The final step will be to get these edits added and start rolling out the final copy sent to all current Co-Leaders. The NP Workbook will act as an onboarding guide combined with real scenarios and thought exercises designed to equip and educate Co-leaders to hold more intentional and welcoming workouts. As our learning and experiences grow and evolve, this workbook will continue to be updated on annual basis.
