Hey Friends,
We’re just about to wrap up the December challenge and hot on the heels of that, we’re diving into NPCan’s January challenge! Let’s get going.
If you like videos, watch this.

Wrapping up the December challenge
Well first, the December challenge is almost over buuuut, you’ve got a few hours left (aka the rest of today) to get the workout done and let Rob or I know you completed it! You got this.
Second, we’ll draw 2 winners for the December challenge tomorrow morning- December 31 at 9:00MST on our NPCan IG page. We’re going live for this one! Tune in if you’d like to see who the winners are for December. Either way, those who win will find out.
Third, the winners will receive some sweet NP Summit swag…. and glory, obviously. The rest of us will also win… win 13 days of fitness, win 13 days of seeing our NP friends, and win 13 days of personal satisfaction. All are wonderful prizes IMO.
Let’s get going with the January challenge!
It’s cold. It’s dark. It’s time to deepen what we mean by #togetherbutapart.

Like I said in the video above, January’s challenge is a leg challenge! Yes, let’s get to work our legs… we’re out of stairs practice!
A few things:
- We’re going to do this in teams. Teams of 3. With the provincial restrictions still in place, this team challenge will happen #togetherbutapart. You can figure out what’s best for you and your challenge pals.
- If you have signed up, awesome. We’re randomly putting you on a team and will announce this in a special blog post this Friday. Watch for it.
- If you haven’t sign up as yet, jump on it! We’re announcing teams on Friday morning.
How will this challenge work you ask? Here’s how:
- This is all happening on the honour system.
- The leg challenge is based on volume. Let’s see how many reps you and your team can collectively do in 30 mins (30 mins for each of you… so yeah, 90 mins for a team of 3). At the end of the month, we’ll award a winner based on your collective rep count. And let’s not forget, quality reps + proper form are important here.
- Start your watch and see what you can get done in 30 mins. Take breaks as you need it… just don’t stop that watch until 30 mins us up!
- The leg challenge is also based on NP qualities we see and know exist within this group; those NP values that are front and center within our community. Rob and I will be looking for that (open to your interpretation) all month and will award a team as winners for being NP cheerleaders + community builders + kicka$$ voices all month long.
- Rob and I will be doing this challenge from 6:00-6:30am MWF. Come and complete your leg challenge workout at that time too! We’ll be hosting zoom calls on MWF at 6:35am so we can see your smiling faces.
- If 6am is tricky for you, not to worry. Within your team of 3, you’ll have until 11:59pm on MWF to complete the 30 min leg challenge and share your collective rep count with us (we’ll give you a form to submit your total reps… on Friday). If 1, 2 or all 3 of your team members completes the challenge, great. Submit whatever total rep count you have!
What if I don’t want to do this challenge you ask? Well:
- You’re always awesome. You’ll always be welcome. We want to see you soooo… come join us at 6:35am on zoom! Who doesn’t love a NP “good morning” from friends?
- @novemberproject will have a Wednesday global NP workout for you to follow.
- Feel free to jump into virtual NP workouts with other NP cities if that feels right for you.
Last thought…
I hope everyone is enjoying the last bit of 2020. In many ways, it’s been a rough year (to say the least). In lots of ways though, it’s been a positive year too. I’m going to be spending the last day of 2020 reflecting on the awesome things that happened in my life this year. I want that to stand front and center over the things that didn’t happen or things that didn’t go in any way as planned.
I’d love to hear some of the things that were awesome in your life this year.
