Wisconsin Notes
– Today’s workout
-Positivity award
-Community Involvement
We don’t usually do Wisconsin notes… is the above about it?? I’m not sure, but either way, here is the blog, a mixture of items….
NPDC was the creator of today’s workout, a workout to educate. Move and learn. Thank you NPDC, for the creativity and teachings. Throughout the last few months, there have been many moments of reflection. Some may have come with wondering how much of what is being talked about in the States is relevant to us? What are your thoughts around that? What are common issues? What kinds of things do we also need to change?
This morning’s workout is a reminder that November Project is a global community. We are part of something greater than just ourselves and our city. A collection of individuals who show up, somewhere around the world, in their own city. These individuals show up for different reasons, and can expect a different vibe, but the same welcoming, safe space, and respect the same community agreements. Travel is not a common activity at the moment, but it’s actually a perfect opportunity to “traverbal” right from your backyard or living room. Let us know what city you pop into and who you get to connect with.
Today, we also hosted the first ever virtual positivity award ceremony, and last positivity award of 2020. The wooden stick holds us accountable to showing up as though we are a crew and we can’t leave the dock with all teammates on the boat, oars in the water. The recipient is Danielle. Danielle continues to motivate, elevate and support others. She has showed up, chosen her own challenge, whatever that has been for her each Wednesday. Danielle connects and shows up for others by having ongoing conversations on how to make our community more inclusive. Danielle is willing to call in and partake in active listening, pushing forward for the good, even when it’s hard. Congratulations Danielle, and thank you for raising us all up!
Finally, those who have wanted to be more involved in the community we will be doing a check in and gathering in the new year, so stay tuned !
Here’s to bringing “soles” together,
Lauren and Liz
