Choo Choo (YEG)

The whispers this morning just had me in a giggling fit. Right from the bounce I could not help but laugh as we whisper shouted “Choo Choo” over and over again. The entire workout made me feel like we were all in on the same inside joke. I would have loved to hear the thoughts of all the cars going by “Why are those people in a giant conga line?” haha

Thank you again to our train car leaders, you helped push everyone to complete their workout this morning and I know we are all grateful for it. I had a great time, from destroying my abs in the engine room, to prepping food in the meal car, and finally working my caboose at…well the caboose lol. Personally I loved calling out “loose caboose” and watching everyone line up together. Seeing people working together “join in here there is room” or sprinting to the end of the line, had me in awe of your teamwork. You are all amazing.

On an unrelated note, 1 week from today we will have our first sunrise 6km of the 2020s! Some of you reading this have no idea what I am talking about so here is a quick summary. The sunrise 6km is the only formal running race that we host here in the city. Now immediately that has turned some of you off, “a ‘race,’ not for me sir, no sirree bub.” Well let me tell you this is a race for you – for everyone. There is no chip time and no pressure to complete. At this race we wait for everyone to finish and we cheer our faces off as you come across the line. For many this was their first ever race and there are countless stories of how this race meant so much to so many people. Seriously some of my favourite stories of all time are by people talking about the sunrise 6km. By you showing up, just like at every workout, you are doing something for yourself but more importantly you are supporting the other people there. I hope you can make it out next Monday, I hope I get to stand beside you and cheer our faces off as people come across the finish line, and I hope you have fun doing it all. See you on Wednesday!!

Keep being awesome,

Rob
