Asia Tribe Challenge and #NPGiveBack

Last week, the November Project Malaysia tribe issued out a recruitment challenge to the Hong Kong tribe for the month of September. A little Asia throwdown, we call it! Which tribe will have the bigger number every Wednesday? The losing tribe will have to do 5 burpees for each difference in number. Names were called, some silly trash talking were said and a Photoshop war broke out among the co-leaders of both tribes.

From possibly secret co-leading another tribe…
To auditioning to replace our seahorse mascot…
Anyway, we’re really looking forward to see the HK tribe throw down 70 burpees this Wednesday because Malaysia won first round. To be honest, they may be the actual winners here because they get to do 70 burpees! Burpees are good ALL the time… all the time burpees are GOOD!

But whatever the numbers that show up in both tribes, as co-leader Dan Graham from Milwaukee tribe put it “Whatever total number show up to NP, every single one of them matter. Each of you matter, exactly this group of individuals today matter.”

YOU matter.

And speaking of who matters, at NP we believe our community matters very much. September has been coined the #NPGiveBack month and our tribe has chosen a local non-profit organisation in Miri who have been doing great things with our stray dogs and cats. Because of Zero Strays Miri, our streets are stray and rabies free. The volunteers at Zero Strays tirelessly work to trap, neuter and release friendly strays making sure that they do not over populate. These neutered strays can be adopted and are fed every day by volunteers. Whenever there are injured dogs and cats, they use their own funds to help pay for their medical treatment.

We as a tribe can help raise funds for them.
We start collecting now so any amount you wish to be donate, please give in envelopes to co-leaders Harry, Ridley and Ing! Please note that donations are entirely VOLUNTARY and not compulsory.

Then on 24th September (Sunday), we are going to invite the Zero Strays volunteers to our pop-up dog-friendly workout at Marina. However much we have collected, we will present the donation to them at the workout. We hope the tribe show up and give our love to these tenacious, compassionate and kind people of Zero Strays who have done so so much for the voiceless and our community.

Let’s make September a month of giving and gratitude!
