Wisconsin Note:
– Pretty simple: Montréal kicked ass this week/PR didn’t have a chance.
PR day wouldn’t be PR day without a lesson in history. We shared history facts on Jacques Cartier and the French Colony here in Canada before. Now let us talk about Nelson’s Column (French: Colonne Nelson), the monument that overlooks our weekly playground – Place Jacques-Cartier – here in Montréal was erected in 1809. The monument is dedicated to the memory of Admiral Horatio Nelson. It is the city’s oldest monument and is the oldest war monument in Canada. The Admiral was noted for his inspirational leadership, superb grasp of strategy, and unconventional tactics, which together resulted in a number of decisive victories, particularly during the Napoleonic Wars. Hence our Seven-Nation Army Bounce!
Horatio was definitely in the house this morning during MTL PR Day! Unconventional tactics and strategies were clearly used to say the least to gather as many victories as possible. Hot weather doesn’t usually mix well with PR but tribe members found a way to celebrate 1:30 to 2 mins off previous PR’s down these hills. WHAT AN ACCOMPLISHMENT! Congrats to all for braving the heat and sun and kickin’ it REAL. We had a blast!

I would like to take a moment to give a shout out to members from other tribes that took the time to sweat with us this morning. Rob and Katie from NP Edmonton, Pedro from NP London, and the lovely couple from NP Worcester – Andrew & Katie. You guys rocked. Hope you had a good time here in Montréal and looking forward to working out with you guys in your respective tribe settings someday. Much respect.
Announcements / Serious stuff
- Next week marks the return of the kindest, most lovely Winnipegger we know: Milana!!! Some tribe members might underestimate her actual height but we all know to be careful of small women with big ideas 🙂
- North Face Endurance Challenges: Wisconsin, Utah and California are to be planned in the coming weeks to see how we could get some delegates from MTL to these events.

Speaking of ‘inspirational leadership, superb grasp of strategy, and unconventional tactics’, kudos to Derek for the PR Day organization and motivation!
Unfortunately can’t do Wisconsin but am looking into Utah & California. Who’s with me? 🙂
