I’ve grown up, like many of you I’m sure, just trying to make my parents proud. It’s not that hard when you have the best parents in the world like I do (sorry everyone else). I mean seriously. I call my mom for advice when I have difficult conversations to have and she gives amazing feedback. Once, in advance of a tough conversation she said “Don’t forget. We all live under the same moon.” That we do.
Mother’s Day was Sunday and I hope you called your mom. She deserved it. But yesterday, we got to hear stories about about the mothers of the tribe. Sukant told us about his mom and how she’s a health nut now. Oh and she never used to drink but since she visited SF she now loves red wine. Ashley told us about how her mom golfs regularly and is a great baker (a common theme). Rachel’s mom had twins and met her dad while working as his secretary. Kyler’s mom changed her name and is responsible for making the city of Somerville, MA “the greatest city in the world” (his words). Tanya’s mom moved from Azerbaijan to the US! Tony’s mom sounds like a gem (surprising no one) and of course Pete Kruse told us about his mom who is the baking champion of the world.
Thank you all for sharing your mother’s stories this morning. I love the opportunities to use the workouts to sweat and get to know the tribe better. Special stuff. Not all NP mornings are created equal and this morning was easily one of my favorite workouts. Stay tuned for Father’s Day?
