CONGRATULATIONS on some crushing PR day this morning. TRACK THEM HERE: https://tracking.november-project.com/events/5078
Today’s blog post comes from veteran Jess Lewis who contributes equally in positivity and snarkiness weekly giving the leaders her input on where we did well and where we “left room for improvement”. She’s a rock solid member of the tribe and we are really happy she is here with us. Congrats on one year, Jess!

“I’m not sure we’ve been formally introduced,” is probably the most common thing I’ve said at NP workouts/happy hours/cheer stations. Often followed by, “But you’re so & so right?”
As my year-aversary of November Project Baltimore approached, I’ve been reflecting on and realizing many things. For one, my ability to identify people in real life from their mini Instagram profile photos is pretty strong. And for two, #NP_BAL has allowed me one of the rare joys in life, remembering how I met someone.
Often times we can’t quite recall our first introduction to someone. Was it homeroom? A party? On tinder? *subtle shout-out to my soccer team “We Met on Tinder”* But with November Project, I can clearly recall the first time I met most of you, and/or the first time we did something #NPweird together (that’s a new hashtag I’m trying to brand).
Now for a brief recap of some of the people, and workouts, that have made a memorable impact on me, and hopefully, this will refresh your memory of some of the unique human beings and epic times from the Baltimore Tribe and beyond. In the spirit of inclusion, all names have been redacted to include weirder descriptions for comedic value.
I started coming to NP one year ago because my brother (an #NP_DC member at the time) may or may not have been hassling me to go, and also his BFF’s, a long-distance running married couple, would be there, and they were “really nice.” After weeks of claiming I would go and being told, “It’s cold and I’m sleepy” isn’t a valid reason to bail, I finally went. Fun fact: it was cold, and I was sleepy.
The workout was Easter themed, and it involved us getting into groups and holding planks while one group member hunted for an Easter egg that contained various exercises in it. We should bring this back.

Here’s proof (to the left- behind that amazing star jump!)

^my soon to be BFF’s
I ran hills next to a guy who, to this day, only refers to me as Rogue #paceAndLove.
I saw my future Acupuncturist at Artscape, and still didn’t know her name, but said hi anyway. Now she’s on my Marathon Relay team.
I went to my first NP cheer station and saw my aforementioned brother run in his first marathon.

I watched one of you sing Good Charlotte at Karaoke and several of you survived my singing too.
I did a penguin shuffle thing with a few other insane people in 9° weather.
I won the positivity award.
We ran in Ravens stadium #theDream.

Overall, my 2016-2017 NP run has been pretty memorable. I got some new Insta followers and told Nick which work-outs sucked, and he still let me submit my own (conveniently missing that day himself). Plus I got ya’ll on the news! http://www.wbaltv.com/article/november-project-workout-craze-grows-to-include-baltimore/7101121
Going forward, while I still may not know all your names, I will probably still know something weird about you, and I hope you’ll hug me just as sweatily, and maybe we can go out for soft pretzels one day. https://november-project.com/good-work-and-sleep-carl-by-jess-np_bal/
A wise man once told me to, “collect stuff they can’t take away from you. When it’s all over, all you’ll have are the lives you touched and the memories of things you’ve seen and done. Collect those things.”
For me, that’s all of you.
