Paddy Doesn’t Even Run (SF)

Guys. This weekend was so fun. Did you know that Dena dressed up as a jellyfish? It was awesome. She had a head umbrella and then a bunch of things hanging down from it. So dope.

Coming in a close second in the NP costume contest was one, Patrick McO’gregor O’Leary III. He was one half of an Irish goodbye. He made me ask him what he was dressed as and then he immediately walked away. It was the most genius and infuriating thing ever.

Anyway, it was a blast.

I just want to brag for a second here. That guy who came in second in the costume contest. I knew him when he still couldn’t pronounce the “TH” sound. When he could only do 14 “pressups” in a row. This was a time when many a female may have considered him more Irish creepy than mature Lad. Where is he now?  Same guy still can’t pronounce the word “three” correctly though he has bumped his pressup PR to a whopping 17. One pushup PR a year. Who knows where he’ll be next year (spoiler alert, it’s 18).

Enough Paddy bashing though, Laura’s way better at it than me anyhow. In some news that Paddy is probably too bashful to actually brag about, Paddy is going to become a TNF sponsored athlete. That means he’ll be representing us (those of us capable of the TH sound and also NPSF/the wider NP family) in races all over the world. If ever there was a time to stop reading this and lace up your shoes, Paddy, it’s now. We’re literally all counting on you to make us proud. Just joking, lad. You’ve already done that. Congratulations on an incredible honor. Hopefully it’s just the start of a lot of great things to come your way in this whole running thing. Shit, remember when your sport had a stick and a ball? Hopeless.

And to think, this running machine told me at the workout this morning that he couldn’t run today. I’ll forgive you this one time, Paddy. Next time I’m telling Dean Karnazes.
