Only one more week until Halloween and given that it’ll fall on an NP morning we figured we’d have a little dress rehearsal today so you can try out your costumes, have a sense of its impact, get a little feedback, and come next Monday, have it all worked out!
Here’s a little feedback so you can fine tune your costuming plans:
- the most popular (& obvious) costume this year appears to be showing up as an NP Canada tribie. Basic costume components – grassroots gear, tights, NP buff & runners. While this costume fits nicely with the theme/location/activity/company/audience involved for next week, sorry, it’s not all that original. Perhaps next week you can aim for a little more – maybe adding a little flare to the NP Canada tribie or come as an NP San Diego tribie?
- to our three skeletons: pretty great, nice coordination. Over all, good job, although I believe that costume’s been done by one of you already so hopefully you’ll be a little more creative next week
- to the cute 1/4 puppy dog – 3/4 human being: good two-for on the puppy hat. Cute puppy dog ears and a warm hat all combined into one.
- to our golden haired legendary character: with your blue shirt on the whole time it was hard to tell if you were going for Thor or Tarzan. Hopefully, you’ll donning body armour or going shirtless next week so it’ll be easier for us to decipher.
- to our lycra-clad superhero: that’s dedication, running down a slippery, muddy embankment in a spandex unitard – incredible! Well done! I’m sure everyone except me knew that you were Mrs. Incredible and not Mrs. Invincible. Although I would argue that you are both incredible and invincible! I suspect you will be joined by many fellow superheroes next Monday!
- Speaking of muddy embankments – to the mud monster/swamp creature/mud bath connoisseur: bonus points for originality and commitment (I mean you even had leaves stuck in the mud plastered on your legs). However, I get the sense that this costume was thrown together last minute. I mean the mud was still wet, kind of like the kid who completes his art project on the school bus and the glue hasn’t dried by the time he turns it in.
So with those few suggestions, I hope that you all take advantage of the next 7 days to get creative and plan your costumes to wow the tribe next Monday.
Speaking of being wowed…that bridge though…wasn’t it spectacular? Great job today on the circuit, got a little of everything…strength exercises, sprinting, purple-lit dance party station, bouncing bridge decks, red skies, dark spooky trails, mud patches…pretty much the perfect recipe for an NP Monday Workout.
#justshowup 6AM
Wednesday – Royal Glenora Stairs – you know how to get there (& please try not to park in the bottom commuter parking lot)
Friday – Walterdale Hill
Halloween Monday – Legislature
Do you have your tickets for the screening of “Showing Up” Thursday, November 3? If you didn’t grab yours in time, you can put yourself on the wait list in addition to getting the work out to others in case they have extras they aren’t using. If you are unable to use yours please let the tribe know, there are people on the wait list hoping to get seats.
Leading up to the “Showing Up” premiere, we are going to be sharing some of our NP Canada tribe stories. Here’s a great post from the past from a tribe member who’s been here from the very beginning…Meet Dayle!
