You know, I really wasn’t planning on writing a blog post today. But I had to show some sympathy for one of our core members, Melanie Colburn.
You see, this morning’s workout was a relatively simple, yet crushing, 3-person workout. One of those where one person does something, another one does something, and a third does something. So descriptive, I know. You should have been there.
But poor Melanie was on a team that just couldn’t get it right. First she had two partners and everything was grand. Then one left to join another team (the nerve!) so she was left with one partner. Which was when I got recruited to be on her team. I was already working out and also telling people what to do (a refined skill, ask any NP leader) but happily joined her team.
But then our third, Mahoney, left our team unexpectedly. All was dissolved. We came up with a way on the fly to use existing people rotating as our proxy third partner. All was solved. But wait, then Mahoney came back on our team (or had she never left?).
What we certainly had was a flustered Melanie. She deserves better. From all of us. Melanie, consider this a group apology from the tribe. You’ll be first pick and qe’ll all be your partner next time!

Thanks Josh! 6 teams, 30 minutes, 1 flustered Melanie – you do the math. Also, who decided this site’s captcha would be reverse fill-in-the-blank? #somonday
