As we always say: “you can do anything for a minute.” Well we all proved that true today! Hope you enjoyed this morning’s 30-in-30 workout. This one is an old favourite of mine – it sounds so easy but it’s actually really hard!
In case you missed it, on Saturday morning Rob and I were on Global News to talk about NP. If you’d like to watch our interview, you can see it at this link (note to self: I say “umm” a lot – I’ve been trying to fix this for years 🤦‍♂️)
Here’s a little behind the scenes story about the interview:
Rob and I wanted to be PREPARED! We took this real seriously and did as much preparation as we could so that we’d be on our game for the interview.
Rob created four questions that would prompt us to talk about all the things we wanted to cover about NP and submitted them to the producer. Rob and I then spent almost 90 minutes on a call on Friday preparing our answers to the questions. We made sure our choice of wording was perfect and that we covered everything we wanted to. We both spent Friday evening rehearsing our responses. Before our interview, I even hid a sheet of paper with our responses under the table, just in case we needed to reference it.
However, sometimes things just don’t go as planned and you have to go with the flow. Were any of our submitted questions actually used? Nope. Did we use any of the pre-written answers that we spent Friday perfecting and memorizing? Nope, definitely not!
Despite not getting to use the responses that we perfectly crafted, I think this ended up being even better because we just had fun and answered what came to us in the moment. We were our most authentic selves and it was so much fun.

I love to be prepared, but there’s just something special about being in the moment. I think it’s great to embrace these unscripted moments. Whether it’s an interview, a workout, a vacation, a workday, or anything else, sometimes the best moments occur when plans are ruined, and you have to make it up on the fly.
NP is as consistent as it gets. Monday, Wednesday, Friday. 6am. We’ll always be there. However, there’s always those times where we get a curveball thrown our way and have to pivot on our initial plans. (Anyone remember that time we had to workout in the Commonwealth Stadium parking lot because we weren’t allowed in due to lightning? Or the times we had to move the workout into TWOSE because of smoke?) Those times are special though because we had fun and made memories from it. I actually can’t wait for more of these occasions in the future.
Looking forward to some great “on the fly” moments with you all!
Lift each other up
Eric
