***play some intense instrumental music & read this in a very serious tone***
Last Friday morning at Walterdale Hill, between the time of 6:05am and 6:35am, I became the latest victim of a plague that has affected many in our November Project community. The condition is known as Lost Keys.
It began as a normal, unsuspecting Friday; I showed up at 6:00am, did a bounce, ran some hills, did some announcements, and took a picture. As usual, I then went to my vehicle to leave. I reached into my pocket, and it was at that moment that I made the shocking discovery. My pocket was empty. My keys had escaped.
A search and rescue crew comprised of Zoe, Tracey, Rob, and myself attempted to recover the runaway keys. Live footage was captured on Friday’s vlog. Sadly, due to the dark conditions, the crew was unsuccessful. (side note: thank you all so much for your help!!)
Feeling anxious about the status of my keys and vehicle which was still parked at the Kinsmen, I returned later in the day to search the grounds in the daylight. Fortunately, I found the fugitives hiding in the grass near the top of the hill. I captured them and returned them to their pocketed exile.

Dear friends, I’m not the only co-leader with a harrowing story. While my story ended well, former co-leader Lazina’s story is much more tragic. On November 2, 2022, her renegade keys grievously escaped her pocket at the Royal Glenora Stairs. To this day, they have not been found.
I’m here to tell you that Lost Keys can happen to anyone, even you. It is imperative that we keep ourselves and our friends protected from future incidents!
In order to keep you protected, we have developed the following 4-point plan:
K – Keep your keys in a zippered pocket
E – Ensure the pocket remains fully zipped at all times
Y – Yield if you see a loose key, capture it, and report it to the authorities (Me & Rob)
S – Slap/pat your pocket periodically to ensure your keys are still there
Lost Keys is preventable. Together, we can keep our keys securely contained. Let’s all do our part.
Lift each other up
Eric
