Labour Day marks the fall Sunrise 6k. Today, we called the police to block off the street for us. We still chose to run on the sidewalk. We also created our best art at the “not so sure if it will be there” turnaround point. We hope you all enjoyed it.

As for the 6k, it is truly a special morning for so many people. Most of you likely experienced it yourself, but if needed confirmation, you just have watch people cross that finish line, especially all the kids. They find that drive-mom-and-dad-crazy-all-day-and-night energy in those last 100 metres and sprint through the tunnel. You could see the excitement on their faces by those giant smiles. Those smiles aren’t nearly as big unless there are people waiting for them. And it’s very rare to be at a race where everyone waits until the very last person crosses that finish line. So, safety hats off to you all, and also the two first-finishers, Lauren and Jay.

We also made an announcement this morning at Old Man Coffee (OMC). For the month of September, the OMC crew will be heading up the #NPGIVEBACK initiative and collecting warm clothes for the Bissel Centre every Friday at hills. In our 4+ years, this is only the second time we have ever done this, so we hope you’ll help give back to those who are less fortunate.
That’s all for now folks!
I hope your labour day is wonderful!
Find the Good,
Nadim
