Run lap. Burpees. V-ups. Push ups. Squat jumps. Plank for the remainder of the seven minutes. Repeat. Literally seven minutes in heaven.
We mixed things up today and threw in a little more running. Which was perfect timing, since before the workout I’d been discussing with Alison how we do far less running than most tribes. The flipside of that is that we do many more burpees. I like to think that we do burpees more regularly than any other tribe in the November Project movement. And I take more than a little pride in that.

Ego-stroking aside, this morning’s workout was a great example of what November Project is, and what makes it so special. Not just the workout itself – a classic blend of hard work, high fives and whatever music Michelle feels like playing (I’m still waiting for a country playlist) – but also the range of people who attended. There were those who battled through the winter with us, those who’ve found us this year and jumped right in, those who were brought out for their first time today, those recruited over the weekend at a yoga class in Muskoka, Mohamed who took our group photo last week, and perhaps most tellingly, there were our ‘traverbals’. Winnipeg, Montreal, DC and NYC were all represented at our workout this morning.
November Project isn’t just a group in this city, it’s a group of groups across 43 cities. Eight countries. Three continents. Anytime you are in another city with a tribe, you can go run, burpee and plank with strangers who are not quite strangers. November Project is a living, breathing, evolving community that welcomes anyone and everyone who chooses to #justshowup, and you are the beating heart of it.
