Wisconsin Notes
- This morning, we learned how to say Bojan (and how to not land on each other).
- We learned it’s a shark eat minoes world. And the sharks always win.
- Eila (spelling confirmed – #facebookstalk) has better burpee form than you.
- We cheered on local bikers with a bad-ass “good morning.” (this is at the end & is really important)
- Taylor’s pancakes were partially uncooked; he was WAY too excited about it.
This morning was pretty epic, if I do say so myself. We first began with an interesting rendition of Rebecca Black’s Friday – fun. fun. fun. fun. looking forward to the weekend!!! (Enjoy having that one stuck in your head). Then post-warmup yog, we got to work on the levees. But not just
any kind of work… it was BOJAN time. 2 partners: 1 planking, 1runs down the levee, 5 pushups, then back up, to then do 3 bojans before they switched.
Things we learned during this portion of the workout:
- Shoulders hurt a lot. Ouch.
- One does not simply jump over or crawl under another human without laughing.
- The levee grass needs a trim.
- It is recommended that everyone jumps in the same direction and spreads out.
Afterwards, we went to the parking lot for a little more adult recess. You guessed it. SHARKS AND MINOES. Frank was the first shark, and as many of you know, Frank is fast AF. See Frank to the left, assessing the crowd. 1 Shark. 60 Minoes. “Bring it.”
He proved me completely wrong and turned all of those minoes into sharks in fewer rounds than I would’ve ever guessed. Well done, Frank. Now go run some more and make all of your Stava followers feel slow.
Onto our always predictable but never forgettable burnout, we had a couple of amazing highlights from the Tabata session this morning. Now that we allow you guys to pick a random person to be the next exercise-decider for Tabata, we’ve noticed fewer and fewer people picking the Colins, Ondrejs and Franks of the world… I mean, we all know they’re going to say burpees and at that point in the workout, all we want to do is jumping jills.
But then came along EILA. I don’t know Eila’s age but I’m guessing it’s around 10. And today, Eila strutted into the center of the circle, and WITHOUT A BEAT, told all of you to do burpees. Not only did she shock the world with her choice, but she also had better form than any other human I’ve ever seen. JUST LOOK AT IT.

Well done, Eila. Lastly, but most importantly, we had a pretty awesome moment this morning. As many of you know, anytime we see a stranger, one of us co-leaders (and sometimes one of you guys) will yell 1-2-3 and then we will all yell “GOOD MORNING” to said stranger. Recently, a cycling gang has consistently passed us during our tabata sessions & last week, out of the blue, these guys passed us and yelled “Good Morning” at us as they rode by. We freaked. So this morning, Louis was on the lookout for the cyclers. And as soon as we saw them on the horizon, we stopped what we were doing, ran to the street, and yelled good morning as they passed.

For those of you who weren’t there, you are probably wondering “why is that so special?” Well, it’s special because that good morning could easily make someone’s day. How often do we walk or run around with our eyes forward or heads down? Why is a “good morning” so uncommon now a days? Here at NP, we’re changing that. You are changing that. Today and tomorrow and all next week and forever, I challenge you to go and say good morning to a stranger and smile hard. I promise it will brighten their day immediately. Go win your day, NOLA.
