Connecting

This morning’s workout was awesome. I hope you thought so too. I can’t claim any credit for the creativity behind it as this was a workout that I borrowed from a friend over in Baltimore. Baltimore is 13,000KM away from Hong Kong and whilst we’re doing our Wednesday workout they’re still enjoying their Tuesday evening. And yet during the NP Summit I made a personal connection with one of the Co-leaders of that Tribe. Across Oceans, across the world, November Project really does bring people together.

Yesterday; Lloyd, Kellen and myself had a ‘Google hangout’ (yeah, I didn’t know what one of those was either until recently) with Brogan Graham one of the founders of NP and he asked about the connections we’d made at Summit. Because connecting with people is at the heart of what November Project is all about. It’s at the heart of what makes us tick as humans.

So, this morning we paired up and worked with a partner. You’ve probably noticed that’s a bit of a theme for us and the reason for this…working out WITH someone pushes you, encourages you and hopefully leads to making a new friend. I heard some great stories this morning from people who’d felt supported and challenged by their partners. We also challenged you to reach out and message the phone number you’d been given today. I hope you take us up on this and make a personal connection with someone. Find out about that person, where are they from? What brings them to the workouts? Where else do they work out? Did they enjoy this morning?

In a city, as transient and hectic as Hong Kong making connections is one of the most important things you can do and it’s been inspiring to see the Community of November Project growing from strength to strength. I love the energy that each one of you brings to the workouts and I’m so excited to get know more of you even better as the tribe continues to grow.

The November Project Community now spans 43 cities across 8 Countries a fact that still blows my mind. You’re not just connected to us in Hong Kong, you’re part of something so HUGE. If you ever visit a city with a November Project they’ll welcome you with open arms and a sweaty hug… because we really are one big family. I’ll be connecting with November Projects in Amsterdam and London over the coming weeks and I’ll be sure to send them lots of Hong Kong love.

So, here’s to making connections, spreading the love and reaching out to people you may otherwise never have met. I truly believe that connecting with new people, people from different nationalities, people with different backgrounds and stories to tell, helps us grow as people and makes us better humans. I hope you make connections all over this incredible city this week.

Peace out and loads of love.
