There are not many words that can describe the raw emotions of Wednesday’s events in becoming the 37th city to join November Project. The fact that Bojan so casually strolled up to the centennial flame and stood among our tribe (or should we say towered over) as a regular weekly member, left us jaw-dropped. There were literally no words. With only a Facetime date planned with our amazing mentor Jen Ference post-workout for a quick check-in, it was just going to be another fun and exciting 6:29am workout on the hill.
Our bounce began with a Canadian classic version of the Good ol’ Hockey game that paid tribute to Ben O’Meara, a true NP-er, Boston/Worcester tribe member, huge supporter, visitor and positive influence on tribes worldwide.
Tribe members kicked ass and pushed hard through a grueling partner workout. Post group snapshot and before rushing off to cars to avoid arriving to a parking ticket, Bojan stopped everyone in their tracks. He proceeded to invite Ottawa to be the 37th location on earth to the November Project Family. Although Bojan presented a gracious speech to welcome us to the family, some of us were in no state to take in any information. The tribe was cheering so loud, and some were in a state of delirium, shock and total awe (thank goodness a more-than-tech-savvy tribe member captured it all on video – https://www.facebook.com/bierbrier/videos/10212608886246701/)
Joining this November Project family means a couple of things… We have the opportunity to create some awesome swag with our new November Project stencils #grassrootsgear (show up next week to get in on this shit). We are now part of a community larger than ourselves. This culture is one that is based on positively connecting with others. We have connections all around the world, and tribes are ready to welcome visitors, from North to South, East to West. We have graduated from a bejeweled Frisbee bringing “soles” together award to a Positivity award that will be passed on through the hands of the tribe members as they positively influence others.
This Free fitness movement has reached yet another city and will continue to grow with increasing connections within our own city, country and worldwide. This thing is catching on and the world doesn’t even know what is coming. Expect the unexpected and that workouts will continue to be just as challenging, provide opportunity to come as strangers and leave as friends after a number of sweaty hugs and high fives.
Here’s to bringing “soles” together
