I’ve talked about it a lot… so I’m going to again because I can, and I’m writing this damn thing. When you write it, you talk about whatever the fuck you want! (P.S. even though February is almost over we still want to hear what you have to say! So if you want to write a blog post love letter to the tribe, let us know!) My favorite part about this damn thing is that it doesn’t stop when the workout ends. The good vibes, positive energy, and human connection continue as long as you allow it to. I was reminded of this when I saw one of my favorite sites after the workout. People running. Some of YOU running.
Believe it or not, this is a new sight for me! It was typical that I would go straight to work after the workouts, and I didn’t have far to go… I work right next to Civic Center Park. But now I’ve been going home after the workouts. I drop off the jambox and my dog, and make breakfast before going to work. On the way home I will undoubtedly see multiple little groups of tribe members running home together, and I couldn’t stop myself from smiling if I wanted to! Why? Because I fucking love y’all, that’s why! This new perspective has been AMAZING. Also, it reminds me of just how much this damn thing can bring people together. I imagine how these groups of people probably didn’t know each other at all before meeting each other at a workout, and then I imagine that they now look forward to Wednesdays and Fridays specifically for that run to and from the workout so that they have that special time with an awesome friend or two!
From the outside, it could look like an insignificant thing… cool, you’ve got a running partner… but from the inside it isn’t so small. It’s a new running buddy, someone to conquer the morning with, someone to have your back and keep you accountable! Maybe I’m just a softy, but remember… I fucking love y’all, so when I see ‘insignificant’ things like that, well my heart swells a little. It’s like Major Wood says, “Teamwork makes the dream work!”
I hope y’all have a beautiful weekend! Leave everyone better than you found them,
