I’ve never seen Game of Thrones, so no, I don’t get the reference. What I’m referring is the inevitable change in weather that’s staring us right in the face every Wednesday morning. We were proud of ourselves when this thing took off in late August. We felt accomplished when we would show up for a 6:20am sunrise. We were feeling like badasses when that low-pressure system caused the temperature to drop to a devastating 66 degrees… Times were tough back then, were they not?
No, they were not. Those were the days, and unfortunately for us, those days are gone. So, what do we do? Throw in the towel and hang up the running shoes until the sun comes back out in April? Sign up for the gym and hit the usual hot tub, sauna, steam room circuit (better known as “The Executive” workout)? I think not. Now is when we learn what it means to be #weatherproof. Now is when we hold each other accountable to show up every week. Rain or shine. Light or dark. Hell or high water. RIGHT NOW is when we solidify this movement in Seattle.
I can’t speak on behalf of anyone other than myself, but I leave Wednesday mornings on a high. It’s my favorite day of the week and I wouldn’t miss it for anything. Whether it’s 66 and sunny in August, or 35, dark and rainy in November, I walk away with the exact same high. It’s only going to get colder, wetter and darker as we move through the winter and I have every intention of carrying this momentum through to our beautiful spring and summer. Join me, would ya? We’re not going anywhere.Share via socials:
