I must admit its been a hot minute since I last hopscotched. Judging by how my muscles feel this afternoon I think I may be needing to add them into my workout routine. Don’t get me wrong the workout this morning was designed to really work those stabilizer muscles, but damn after the third time around the 200 square hopscotch I was feeling it.
I hope you all take time to stretch and relax. I know that it takes me a solid amount of effort to muster up the energy to do some rehabilitation work (I am sure it can be difficult for you too sometimes). As much as it would be nice to be able to sit down and dedicate time to stretching and rolling, for many it is last on the list of things to do in order to get ready for the day post NP. For me I have landed on the notion that even doing something is better than nothing at all. Touch your toes, hamstrings, calf raises, back bends etc. Even if its just for a few mins doing these little things; they add up over time and are some of the best ways to avoid getting injuries.
I had a lot of fun today. During the set up the day before I could not help but think of all of your smiling faces playing around doing hopscotch before the sun was out – you did not disappoint. But really, come on that is not a sentence that you get to say very often haha. You were a part of that.
Your ‘happy’ was showing today and it was amazing to be a part of. Seeing as I have an entire box of sidewalk chalk still in my car I feel like we’ll have to get in another Monday workout involving chalk before the ground is covered. Giant game of Snakes and Ladders anyone???? hmmm yes…that’s going to happen.
Rest those legs for weds and we’ll see you at 5:30am or 6am.
Keep being awesome,
