New Years Day Summit Avenue saw a lot of hungover dropped verbals. It was sad. We missed so many of our amazing NP tribe members on Friday morning, which is why Tim had to write this We Missed You post for Kelly right after the workout.
First of all, you have to know how much I appreciate you making sure I got home safely last night/this morning. Us Allston people have to stick together, right? That’s what you told me last night. So thank you. But some things were said yesterday and we need to talk about them. Sure, that last round of drinks after 1 AM probably wasn’t a good idea.
Neither was me getting off the T at Blandford Street to do my best impression of a drunk college kid peeing on Allston. But it’s all good because there were some serious verbals last night. In the midst of dancing, drinking, and enjoying each other’s company, we all made a promise to keep the fun going at 6:29 on Summit Ave. And even though I didn’t want to get up this morning, I did. And it’s because I was looking forward to seeing your smiling face. I was so excited to give one of my newest and coolest friends a hug. I needed that hug. Maybe it was so I wouldn’t fall down, but I still needed it. I was really excited to run some hills with you today. So were a bunch of other people. But when I looked around this morning I saw a lot of awesome people but one was missing. A lot were missing, actually but this isn’t about them. This is about you. This is about you “sleeping through everything.” This is about the fact that even though I know you’re better than this, you kinda dropped the ball on this one. (Yeah, it’s a new years joke)
Here’s what it comes down to. Verbals are like babies. Even if you make one when you’re drunk, it still counts. Also, dropping one is kind of a big deal. So when you dropped your verbal over that last round of drinks, it was one of the best moments of 2016. I mean, Chris was so excited he couldn’t even look at the camera. Sarah was excited too. A lot of people were excited to see you because we really like you.
I guess what I’m trying to say is…We missed you. Us Allston people have to stick together, right? Yeah, that’s what I thought too.
All the love,
