Much anticipation had been building in the Philadelphia fitness community for the ribbon cutting of our very own boardwalk over top the Schuylkill River. This latest addition adds distance to the trail as well as offering some killer views of the city and the feeling of quite literally, running on water. A long ramp connecting the boardwalk to the South St. bridge also introduces some elevation aspects to the new spot.
Fridays workout brought us to the base of the boardwalk. The group split into pairs — while one partner ran a portion of the boardwalk, up the ramp to South St. and back (roughly 0.6 miles), the other partner held a plank, v sit, or did squats. Each partner cycled through runs and stationary workouts until each partner had completed each of the three workouts/runs. It was a beautiful morning and the energy was high! What a way to start a weekend!
Many questions have been asked about Franklin Field. As of now we will not be working out at Franklin Field on Fridays, as we learn more, we will pass information along. Make sure to stay tuned at Wednesday workouts and on our social media for Friday locations!
