Picture this: It’s the dead of winter. When it’s 8 degrees out (-13C for the rest of the world), the ground is frozen, and your breath probably forms a cloud in front of your face and then snow falls from that cloud. At times, it’s difficult to determine how hard you’re actually working under all those layers. We’re more concerned about preventing frost bite. Our circuit workouts include shivering as a station.
GOOD NEWS: This is all behind us. Now we work out in 70F (21C) and the humidity is 92%.
BETTER NEWS: We know how hard we’re working. Why? Because you can see it in the sweat soaked hair, shirts, shorts, socks, and shoes. Yes, even the shoes.
BEST NEWS: We get to see how hard you already worked all winter and show DC how sexy you all are.
Other than a bunch of good looking people doing a nice loop around the fountain and a team relay to finish things off, there are some important things I’d like to discuss.
1. Boston tribe: If you guys like it down here so much, you might as well just move. Even if you’re spies for Bojan and BG (which I don’t doubt), we love having you here. You’re beautiful, fast, and part of our family. Now go give a good report to the mother tribe and two big hugs to our founders.
2. We said a see you later (not goodbye) to our Gallaudet crew today. We’ve learned so much from you guys (including how to say Fuck Yeah, burpee, you’re fucking beautiful, etc. all in sign language). More importantly, you’ve taught us that even when we have difficulty communicating (because let’s be honest, Danny and I struggle with explanations sometimes…not sure if you’ve noticed), we can still communicate with smiles, high fives, and ginormous bear hugs. We will miss you over the summer and eagerly await your return to the District. Spread the love.
If you haven’t seen this video, watch it. Unplug and enjoy your friends and family.
If you’ve read up to this point, comment on the album and say “Life is like a box of chocolates”.
