Spring Break (YEG)

Since the age of 5 I’ve pretty much operated according to the school calendar. I experience two years – one that starts in January and one that starts September. I also get Christmas Break and Summer Break but my favourite is Spring Break! I love this week because it feels like I wake up from a winter hibernation – all of the sudden the mornings are getting lighter earlier, the temperatures are starting to increase, and the number of layers I need to wear begins to decrease. I love seeing buds on the trees and those first few blades of green grass. I love that the sidewalks are clear and even when we get that spring snow it never lasts for long. Spring break is like a “TSN Turning Point” for me – the time I say farewell to winter and applaud all of us weatherproof warriors for making it through another Edmonton winter. This coming week we transition from March into April, the Easter bunny will arrive & I may consume a few Cadbury mini eggs. I will probably buy some tulips for the house and maybe do a spring clean. I will also break out my new runners – those beauties that have been sitting in my closet waiting dry paths. Spring brings on a new intentionality to my running and training…today that started with hills – what an amazing morning with an amazing community!

Now that spring has sprung, let’s get our less-than-weatherproof friends back out, let’s recruit some newbies & let’s share our energy!

So far in March we’ve completed our studies at the U of A, MacEwan U and MC College.

For the final Monday in March we will go back in time and visit The Oldest Brick School in Alberta
