‘Twas the Wednesday before Christmas, when all through Papago Park House
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The lights were hung around Wyatt with care,
In hopes that the tribe members soon would be there;
The no shows were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of missing out on the 12 Days of Christmas Workout
danced in their heads;
And Trevor in his ’meggings, and I in my cap,
Had just settled in ready to cheer, bounce, and clap,
When out from the Buttes there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the stairs to see what was the matter…
…When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature Christine, and eight tribe members dressed as reindeer…
More rapid than eagles the tribe members they came,
And Trevor whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;
“Now, Ashely! now, Annie! now, Karen and Rick!
On, Kendra! on, Dean! on, Blue Lighting and Nick!
To the top of the stairs! Watch out don’t fall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!”…
…As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the stairs came two Santas with a bound.
They were dressed all in fur, from their head to their toes,
Until they got to hot and sweaty and stripped down like hoes.
Then the workout was over and the crushing award went home with someone new
We reminded them that the Sunrise 6k is next week and away they all flew
But I heard them exclaim, as they ran out of sight,
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night.”…err.. good-morning.
Sunrise 6k is this coming Wed. Same time. Same place. We are leaving from the parking lot so do not run to the stairs! We will have the course marked. Bring a headlamp.
Start thinking of New Years resolutions!
Have a very happy holiday!
Peace, love and cacti,
