Today’s workout was the filling of the sandwich I wish I was eating right now. Follow me on this one: Last week we had a visitor, the first piece of bread- toasted sourdough- a man who goes by BG, a man who comprises 50% of the duo that started November Project over three years ago. This Friday- toasted sourdough piece number two- we race the Sunrise 6k in Denver. That is why I’m confident in calling today’s workout the sandwich meat between two pretty big events for the Denver tribe. It was turkey, salami, provolone, lettuce, tomato, mayo and hots—so you know today was good. Did I mention it was toasted? For the record I mean toasted via panini press. Join us Friday to complete your fantasy sandwich! 1.5 hours until lunch. I digress…
….Anyway, today we pushed hard for 40 minutes. Today we battled the cold and battled our minds when they told us we were tired. Today, everyone proved in his or her own way that they are stronger then they think they are. That’s what this free, authentically all-inclusive, fitness movement is all about, and that’s reason enough to keep showing up. Also in today’s news, Julia G passed the the well earned positivity award to Morgan Anderson who has become a core member, a racer, a cheerleader, and our photographer. If these ladies aren’t on your radar, you probably haven’t come yet.
Let’s talk Sunrise 6k, beginning with a short story. About a year and a half ago, Lt Dan claimed that Denver was the fittest tribe of all the tribes. Since this 6k is a race within our own tribe but also a race against all other North American tribes, Friday will be the day to bring out your physical and mental game. OUT FOR BLOOD. Let’s prove Lt Dan right, shall we? The early group will start at 5:20. The 6:15 group WILL START AT 6:00. Please bring your own timing devices! Dress weird, run fast… whatever you do there will most likely be a prize for it. So get excited. Are you bringing someone new? Fuck yea you are. You have two days to step up that recruiting game. Looking forward to seeing you all there.
With love, Molly.
Friday 2/20 Sunrise 6k at Cheeseman Park. Meet at the PAVILION. Please don’t park on the inner road loop, as this is where we will be running! 6K = 3.72mi = 3-Laps of inner road. There will be prizes for first, middle, & last place, best dressed, most hugs, etc.
