GO BIG (BAL)

While Mom+Dads were at #NPSummit in Utah this weekend, the tribe needed a little movie and heads-up-7-up substitute teacher time. Welcome Allison & Kay. This was their Recess filled Friday morning.

When Sydney asked me if I would chaperone today’s workout with Kay, my first thought was “Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!” followed by, “Really, ME??” and then closely followed by, “Wait, but seriously?? Now??” This week has been insanely busy at work as we are organizing our biggest event of the year, a 5K race happening this Saturday. But of course there was no way I was going to let this opportunity go, so I answered with an enthusiastic “Fuck yeah!”

It got me thinking about all the other opportunities in my life I had missed out on because I  had doubted myself or was “too busy” or “too tired” or too whatever. How many times a day do we second guess ourselves? Think that maybe we’re not good enough, not strong enough, not brave enough. What would happen if we all just threw that out the window and decided to GO BIG.

GO BIG by saying yes to leading the workout even though you’re busy and tired. GO BIG by getting in extra miles at 5:30 am even before you start #hillsforbreakfast. GO BIG by throwing the whisper out the window and yelling “Fuck Yeah” at 6:30 am.* GO BIG by getting a team of almost 30 people to race hard and support community at a 5K. GO BIG by flying across the country to convene with 24 NP cities and race in the mountains. GO BIG by “traveling the country to log epic runs in the wilderness” for 45 days. GO BIG by just showing up.

My point is, the big doesn’t have to be HUGE. Just showing up Wednesday and Friday to challenge yourself is BIG. November Project motivates us to go big not just in workouts, but in everything we do. Because we are all good. We are all strong. We are all brave. We are all enough.

So here are my words for Friday: Say yes. Run epic. Go big.

Love,
Allison

*P.S. Kay and I apologize for the probable noise complaint, guys. But… #worthit.
